Build and operate full-stack product features across frontend interfaces, backend APIs, data pipelines, analytical SQL, authentication, and multi-cloud infrastructure. Maintain BigQuery measurement logic, caching layers, Firebase/Auth0 authorization, and GCP/AWS integrations. Ensure testing, observability, and production reliability while contributing to architecture and technical roadmaps. Develop or integrate LLM-powered workflows and AI agents, investigate unfamiliar production codebases, and mentor junior engineers.

Samba connects the advertising industry. Today, a trillion dollars of media flows through platforms that don’t talk to each other, and each one measures its own results. We built the independent alternative: consented first-party data and AI that give the world’s biggest advertisers, publishers, and platforms one clear view across all of it.

The next era of advertising will run on AI agents, and those agents will need data they can trust. We’re building that foundation, and the agents that act on it. Join us and help build what the industry runs on.

About the Role
Samba's Product Engineering team builds the software that puts our data to work: customer-facing platforms, internal tooling, and the APIs and services that connect them. You own features and systems across the stack, from web frontends to backend services, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure, in work that goes well beyond CRUD: analytical SQL over large-scale TV viewership data, caching pipelines, a multi-cloud environment, and a non-trivial auth model.

What You'll Do
  • Own Features: Own features end to end, from frontend interfaces and backend services and APIs to data models and the infrastructure that runs them.
  • Write Analytical SQL: Write and maintain analytical SQL over large-scale datasets (BigQuery), understanding the domain well enough to extend measurement logic correctly.
  • Run Data Pipelines: Design and operate data pipelines and caching layers between raw data and the product surface.
  • Evolve the Auth Model: Maintain and evolve the auth and authorization model across Firebase, Auth0, and Firestore security rules.
  • Manage Multi-Cloud: Manage multi-cloud integrations across Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, Firestore, Cloud Storage) and Amazon Web Services (AWS) (S3).
  • Hold the Bar: Hold a high bar for testing, observability, and reliability: instrument what you ship and own its behavior in production.
  • Shape Architecture: Participate in architecture reviews, contribute to the technical roadmap, and mentor junior engineers.

What You Bring
  • 5+ years of experience building and operating production software, with strong command of TypeScript or JavaScript across frontend and backend.
  • Experience building backend services and APIs, including RESTful design, authentication patterns, and token-based auth flows.
  • Comfortable writing non-trivial SQL (window functions, aggregations, query optimization); experience with BigQuery or a similar analytical datastore is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure (serverless or managed compute, object storage, secret management, scheduled jobs) and familiarity with eventual consistency and cache invalidation patterns in distributed systems.
  • Proficient in agentic development, building or integrating large language model (LLM) powered workflows, tool-use patterns, or AI agents in production.
  • Comfortable doing archaeology in production codebases: reading unfamiliar code, identifying live versus legacy paths, and making safe changes.
  • Nice to have: React and modern frontend patterns; Firebase (Cloud Functions, Firestore, Authentication); GCP and/or AWS in production; an adtech, audience measurement, or CTV and OTT background; and exposure to reach, frequency, and attribution.
