About the role

We are hiring a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our India Operations and play a crucial role in our mission to establish a world-class data engineering team within the Center for Data and Insights (CDI). In this role, you’ll play a key part in building a cutting-edge, real-time data platform, designed to deliver insights at scale and power data-driven decision-making across our organization. Responsibilities will include collaborating with the data team and working on both backend microservices & frontend interfaces, crafting solutions that ensure data is processed, analyzed, and visualized in real time.

The ideal candidate will bring strong full-stack engineering expertise across modern frontend and backend technologies, with hands-on experience building scalable, secure, and cloud-native applications. You will leverage Java, Spring Boot, React, Next.js, TypeScript, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices to deliver high-quality solutions that enable data-driven decision making for our business partners. This role requires a proactive, self-driven engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment, takes ownership from design through production, and balances technical excellence with business impact. By joining the CDI team, you will play a key role in shaping the data product application, building intuitive user experiences, scalable APIs, and robust platform capabilities that empower teams worldwide with timely, actionable insights. If you are passionate about solving complex problems, delivering exceptional user experiences, and driving continuous improvement across the full technology stack, we'd love to hear from you.

Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Design, develop, and maintain end-to-end features across the product, spanning React/Next.js frontend applications and Java Spring Boot backend services.
  • Build secure, scalable REST APIs using OpenAPI-first design principles and implement robust authentication and authorization using Okta OIDC, OAuth2, and JWT-based security.
  • Develop intuitive, accessible, and localized user experiences, including dashboards, analytics, data tables, and visualizations, ensuring WCAG-compliant implementations.
  • Collaborate closely with data engineers, product managers, UX designers, and stakeholders to deliver high-impact features and platform enhancements.
  • Manage integrations with Databricks and other data platforms, optimizing API performance, database connectivity, and concurrent processing for large-scale analytics workloads.
  • Implement comprehensive testing strategies across the stack, including unit, integration, API, and component testing, to ensure reliability and maintainability.
  • Support cloud-native deployments using Kubernetes, Docker, GitHub Actions, and GitOps practices, while maintaining observability through Datadog and production monitoring tools.
  • Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, architectural discussions, performance optimization, automation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You

We get excited about candidates, like you, because...

  • 8+ years of experience building and delivering modern full-stack applications using Java and React-based technologies.
  • Strong expertise in Java 21, Spring Boot, REST API design, and secure application development using OAuth2, OIDC, and JWT authentication.
  • Hands-on experience with React, Next.js, TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks, including state management, API integration, and component-driven development.
  • Solid understanding of SQL-based data platforms and API-driven integrations, with experience optimizing application performance and scalability.
  • Experience working with containerized and cloud-native environments, including Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms such as GCP and/or AWS.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality, maintainable code supported by automated testing frameworks and engineering best practices.
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Databricks, GitOps/Flux CD, observability platforms (Datadog), internationalization, or analytics applications is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
