About the company

Our client is a fast-growing software company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own the technical direction of core platform services, from architecture through release, while working side by side with engineering leaders and product partners. The work includes bringing applied AI functionality into live use and setting a high bar for how the team builds software.

What you'll do

- Drive the architecture and implementation of dependable, well-instrumented services that are easy to maintain over time.

- Make end-to-end technical calls on interfaces, data design, speed and security, balancing tight limits on response time, uptime, spend and scale.

- Partner in person with engineering leadership and the product, design and data groups to turn new initiatives into working software.

- Write backend code in TypeScript and Python, and help shape user-facing features with React.

- Guide the rollout of AI-driven capabilities, taking them from initial design to live deployment with a practical, product-focused approach.

- Establish team practices around peer review, automated testing, releases and handling production incidents.

- Use AI coding assistants every day to help the team move faster and produce better work.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 3 to 6 years of professional software engineering, building production platforms.

- A history of taking ownership of a core service from start to finish and explaining the architectural tradeoffs behind it.

- Solid skills in system design, reviewing architecture and writing code hands-on.

- Recent experience releasing AI-powered features to real users; internal tooling, personal projects and listed skills do not qualify.

- At least 1 year of recent experience at a startup; time at a large technology company is also welcome.

- TypeScript with Node, or Python, as the primary language used in recent roles.

- Regular, in-depth use of leading AI tools in day-to-day work.

- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field.

- Willingness to work on-site five days a week.

Bonus points

- Past experience as a technical founder or founding engineer.

- Familiarity with conversational or voice AI, or with financial services.

- Front-end experience with React.
