Hands-on Senior Software Test Engineer responsible for test architecture, automation, device characterization, system integration, data analysis, and debugging across SLT, Burn-In, HPC, and semiconductor manufacturing test platforms. The role works directly across semiconductor testers, automated handlers, hardware, firmware, software, instrumentation, thermal systems, test programs, and manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain automated test solutions for semiconductor devices and SLT, Burn-In, HPC, and manufacturing platforms.
- Develop test programs, automation, scripts, and tools using Python, C#, C++, or similar languages.
- Define test methodologies, validation plans, acceptance criteria, and production test requirements.
- Perform electrical, thermal, functional, and device characterization.
- Correlate test results across ATE, SLT, Burn-In, validation, and manufacturing environments.
- Develop automated data collection, analysis, reporting, and yield-monitoring solutions.
- Analyze test data to identify yield excursions, device behavior, performance trends, and root causes.
- Define test infrastructure, instrumentation, and system requirements for new products and platforms.
- Debug hardware and system issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, protocol analyzers, and other lab equipment.
- Work closely with hardware, software, firmware, thermal, product, and manufacturing engineering teams.
- Support new product introduction, manufacturing readiness, customer integration, and production ramp.
- All other duties as assigned.
- S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 5+ years of experience in semiconductor test, validation, product engineering, or related fields.
- Hands-on experience with SLT, Burn-In, ATE, semiconductor validation, or manufacturing test systems.
- Experience developing automated test software using Python, C#, C++, or similar languages.
- Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit fundamentals, schematics, instrumentation, and board-level debugging.
- Experience with communication interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, and PCIe.
- Experience with statistical analysis, yield analysis, test correlation, and large test datasets.
- Must be willing to work onsite in our Lake Forest, CA office.
- Experience with semiconductor SLT, Burn-In, HPC, or ATE platforms.
- Experience with automated characterization and high-volume manufacturing test.
- Experience correlating device performance across multiple test platforms and environments.
- Experience with test-data analytics, dashboards, and automated reporting.
- Willingness to work in an on-prem and on-site setup (No Hybrid) in Lake Forest, CA.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, sometimes on short notice.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
