Seeking a Senior Staff Engineer with 7+ years in software engineering and a strong background in crypto-native systems. Responsibilities include system design, leading teams, and mentoring engineers across various engineering initiatives.
Dragonfly is a crypto-native Venture Capital and research firm with $3.6B+ in assets under management and 160+ portfolio companies. Our Talent team connects people with roles across our portfolio, opening the door to opportunities through our Talent Network.
This is not a listing for an internal role at Dragonfly. This posting is to connect you directly with one or more companies in our portfolio that are actively hiring for Senior Staff and Principal Engineers across different domains—including protocol, infrastructure, full-stack, and developer tooling.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2+ years at the Staff or Principal level
- Proven track record of building and shipping crypto-native systems—whether protocols, infra, or full-stack products
- Deep expertise in system design, distributed systems, and production-grade architecture
- Experience mentoring engineers and leading cross-functional technical initiatives
- Strong comfort operating in high-ambiguity, fast-paced startup environments
- Bonus: contributed to open-source crypto projects or participated in core protocol engineering
About the Role(s):
Depending on the team, you could be:
- Leading architecture and implementation of a new L1/L2, on-chain product, or zero-knowledge protocol
- Building developer platforms, staking infra, or MEV-aware systems at scale
- Driving technical strategy and roadmap for teams shipping complex crypto systems
- Mentoring engineers and establishing an engineering culture at the earliest stages
- Working directly with founders and research teams to push forward novel mechanisms or primitives
Even if you don’t match every point above but are a Staff-level engineer with real crypto experience, we encourage you to apply. There may be other opportunities that fit your skill set.
Process:
- We’ll confidentially match you with portfolio companies aligned with your background, skill set, and interests
- If mutual interest exists between you and a team, we’ll facilitate a warm introduction
- If there isn’t a match today, we’ll keep you top of mind for future opportunities
Compensation
- $200,000–$300,000
The compensation range reflects variation by seniority, location, and hiring company. Final compensation is confirmed with the specific hiring company.
Our portfolio companies are globally distributed, offering remote, hybrid, and in-person roles worldwide. They’re building across the entire crypto ecosystem—including Crypto x AI, Prediction Markets, DeFi, CeFi, infrastructure, L1S and L2S, creator/consumer applications, NFTs, ZK, and more. All candidate submissions are strictly confidential.
Submit your information below, and we’ll reach out if there’s a potential fit.
