Job Summary
The Senior Systems Engineer (Cloud Engineer) facilitates and is responsible for the implementation and administration of server hardware, operating systems and core infrastructure components for both on-premise and public cloud environments. This position plays a key role in the Credit Union’s service and support organization and enables business units to reach their goals by supporting various projects and by maintaining the confidentiality, integrity and availability of IT services. This role helps to define technology standards including policies and procedures.
The Senior Systems Engineer is an exempt position and reports to the Director of Technical Operations.

Essential Functions
Infrastructure Management
- Responsible for implementation and administration of on-premise compute and storage infrastructure environments including; Cisco UCS, VMware, Pure Storage, Cohesity
- Implementation, maintenance and support of public cloud services and resources
- Deep understanding of Active Directory, Microsoft Entra, M365 configuration and management.
- Strong drive to develop and transform current on-premise and cloud infrastructure services and processes with a continued focus on security
- Proactive ownership of physical environments to include system updates and upgrades, expansions, system migrations and data replication.
- Improve efficiency and quality in service and system build and delivery, monitoring, standard operations and validation through the use automation
- Troubleshoot and solve issues and incidents related to critical services and proactively detect and prevent their re-occurrences
- Leverage third-party support and resources in support of administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting complex technical issues.
Infrastructure Cloud Services
- Support a cloud first strategy including application cloud readiness assessments, on-premises to cloud migrations and cloud proof-of-concepts.
- Maintain and deploy cloud services including SaaS, PaaS and IaaS solutions.
Teamwork, Mentoring and Self-Development
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule for after-hours support
- Continually find opportunities for ongoing professional development and learning for self and team
- Proactively identify ways to support team goals and recommend solutions.
- Effectively manage time and resources. This may include leveraging resources from other groups and coordinating testing efforts of other departments
- Executes basic project planning and reporting

- Complete required regulatory Training as assigned.
- Maintain strict adherence and compliance to all laws, rules, regulations and internal controls specific to your role, including but not limited to Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering, USA Patriot Act, OFAC and Fair Lending regulations.

Experience
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of experience supporting server operating systems, Active Directory, public cloud environments
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience administering, supporting and troubleshooting M365
- Strong history or successful project execution as it relates to infrastructure, associated services, networking, identity management and security best practice
- Ability to engage in problem- solving skills to help identify and resolve issues with minimal supervision.
- Effective communication skills.
- Proficiency with creating and updating technical process and design documentation.
- Must be bondable
Preferred Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field
- 2+ years of demonstrated experience managing Azure cloud environments
- Experience in cloud infrastructure projects with hands on migration expertise to public clouds such as Azure
- Experience working in a Credit Union or financial services industry
- Current Technical Certifications such as; VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, Azure or AWS

- This position requires frequently working onsite at UFCU Plaza in Austin, Texas on average two days a week.
