Role Description and Major Responsibilities:
Client Business Partner, Business Development, is an active team member who contributes to achieving sales targets and generating and closing opportunities with Mastercard's clients. The Client Partners are the single point of accountability for strategic accounts. They own the relationship, ensure delivery with excellence, and build trusted partnerships that unlock long-term value.
We are currently recruiting a Client Business Partner to lead our relationship with a Government Bank. The Candidate will work exclusively with this account, ensuring Mastercard's priorities are brought to the forefront of all discussions with the client.
The candidate should be able to: • Elevate the relationship: move from transactional to strategic, becoming a trusted advisor to its main clients• Ensure a single, integrated view of client needs: from strategic vision to execution across Mastercard Services• Translate client ambitions into well-scoped initiatives: aligning solutions with purposeful business levers• Secure right-sized staffing and project governance: maximize delivery quality while maintaining strategic focus
From a Business Development perspective, the candidate should:• Owns the client relationship across Mastercard Services and Advisors• Leads yearly planning and long-term account strategy, aligning Mastercard capabilities to client priorities• Shapes and positions proposals based on client pain points and business ambitions• Drives cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, orchestrating multiple solution areas under a cohesive vision• Partners with Core Account Managers to ensure Mastercard speaks with one voice to the client
From a Delivery of Projects perspective, the candidate should:• Orchestrates project staffing, pricing, scoping and forecasting, ensuring quality and alignment with business goals• Monitors delivery effectiveness and proactively addresses risks to timelines, value creation, or relationship health and ensures revenue recognition• Connects delivery outcomes to strategic objectives, helping clients see the "why" behind the "what"• Leverages delivery to gather client insights, feeding them back into commercial and product opportunities
Experience• Undergraduate degree required • MBA or relevant post-graduate degree preferred • 6+ years of work experience in the Payments industry is preferred• 4+ years of experience in managing projects and teams • Experience with Government banks or entities is preferred• Strong commercially/business development-oriented experience • Strong relationship management skills • Technical fluency (i.e., comfortable with technology solutions, able to discuss trends and simplify concepts) • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Experience in managing projects and teams • Fluency in Spanish and English
