About Mach9

Mach9 builds software that transforms reality capture datasets into high-precision 3D maps, accelerating how teams model and understand the world. Its flagship product, Digital Surveyor, automatically extracts features like utility poles, signs, curbs, striping and more from LiDAR and imagery datasets to create engineering-ready GIS and CAD deliverables. Surveying, engineering, and GIS teams work with Mach9 to reduce the time and cost of 3D mapping and deliver projects faster than ever before.

Mach9 is backed by Quiet Capital, Y Combinator, Overmatch Ventures, Kyle Vogt (founder of Cruise), Amar Hanspal (former CEO of Autodesk), Scott Belsky (CPO of Adobe), Gokul Rajaram (former executive at DoorDash), and more.

Position Overview

Mach9 is expanding our Solutions Consulting team to help surveying and engineering enterprises and infrastructure owners adopt and scale with Mach9 software. We're looking for an experienced geospatial professional with deep technical expertise and a customer-first mindset. You'll become an expert in our products and a trusted advisor customers rely on to get the most out of Mach9.

As a Solutions Consultant, you'll be the primary technical partner for customers across their full engagement with Mach9. Pre-sale, that means leading discovery conversations, identifying friction in customer workflows, demonstrating how Mach9 software changes production economics and delivering technical demonstrations. Post-sale, you'll own onboarding and training, help customers integrate Digital Surveyor into their production workflows, remain their primary technical resource as the product evolves, and ensure Mach9 software becomes embedded in core delivery programs.

This role goes beyond product demos. You will help customers rethink how data moves from field collection to CAD and GIS deliverables, enabling scalable digital delivery across transportation, utilities, and infrastructure programs.

You'll also work closely with our engineering, product, and design teams to surface customer needs and shape the direction of Digital Surveyor.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer-facing responsibilities

  • Provide geospatial and survey expertise on sales calls alongside Account Executives.

  • Run and tailor technical product demonstrations for prospects across different verticals and use cases.

  • Own the technical evaluation process: help customers get their project data into Mach9, walk production teams through the workflow, and validate fit for their projects.

  • Own customer onboarding and training through remote and onsite sessions to help teams integrate Mach9 into their production workflows.

  • Serve as a trusted technical resource for customers across experience levels, from geospatial novices to experts.

  • Act as the long-term technical advisor for customers, supporting evolving use cases and scaling across geographic regions, business units, and programs.

  • Represent Mach9 at trade shows, conferences, webinars, and industry groups by presenting on real project applications.

  • Expand Mach9's reach by introducing the product to surveying, geospatial, and engineering firms in your network.

Internal-facing responsibilities

  • Partner with Marketing on surveying industry content and positioning, including website copy, sales materials, product messaging, and business case development.

  • Support Engineering, Product, and Design as the internal geospatial expert: evaluate features and workflows, weigh in on architecture decisions, advise on asset feature types and deliverable representation, and collaborate with Product on roadmap prioritization.

  • Train internal team members on surveying and geospatial workflows, technologies, standards, and use cases.

  • Build and maintain onboarding frameworks, training content and technical documentation for Mach9 products.

Required Skills and Experience
  • 10+ years of surveying or geospatial experience, with strong preference for candidates with LiDAR data collection and feature extraction expertise.

  • Track record of driving technology adoption at an engineering or surveying firm.

  • Proficiency with commonly used CAD and GIS platforms (e.g., Bentley Microstation, Bentley ORD, Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Revit, Esri ArcGIS) and how they are used in production workflows.

  • Familiarity with major surveying hardware, software, and key industry trends.

  • Strong understanding of survey data formats, workflows, and how they connect across the broader AEC and infrastructure industry.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience presenting technical solutions to diverse audiences.

  • Consultative mindset with a track record of solving complex customer problems.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment.
