We have an exciting opportunity as a Sourcing Manager at Ferguson. In this role, you will deliver enterprise value by leading strategic sourcing initiatives and implementing effective negotiation strategies that reduce cost and risk while improving supplier performance and driving innovation. You will serve as a trusted partner to business and corporate stakeholders, supporting a wide range of operational functions and enabling scalable, sustainable business outcomes.

Location:

This role is approved to be either Remote within the United States or Hybrid for associates in Newport News, VA, in accordance with company policy.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and implement sourcing methodology and initiatives, including developing sourcing plans, obtaining business alignment, negotiating and implementing contracts, and generating savings.
  • Proactively engage and collaborate with partners to understand sourcing opportunities, develop requirements, evaluate and conduct competitive RFx events, select suppliers, negotiate, and contract.
  • Consistently conduct ongoing market research and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand demand, supplier capabilities, industry trends, and emerging solutions within assigned categories.
  • Lead and direct sourcing activities to enhance value through continuous improvement of services and solutions while leveraging enterprise spend.
  • Coordinate activities across business operations and corporate functions to effectively interact with partners at all levels of the organization.
  • Negotiate sophisticated agreements primarily for professional services and consulting engagements, including MSAs, PSAs, SOWs, and select technology-enabled solutions.
  • Analyze historical spend, contract, and market data to identify trends, risks, and optimization opportunities.
  • Stay informed of technology, process, and service innovations relevant to business operations and apply appropriate solutions to improve outcomes.
  • Draft, negotiate, and complete contracts in close collaboration with the business, Legal, IT Security, Vendor Management, and other relevant business partners.
  • Select vendors and service providers that meet business needs through comparative market analysis, strategic planning support, pricing development, and issue resolution.
  • Maintain awareness of current market trends, supplier capabilities, and changes across traditional and emerging indirect spend solutions.
  • Handle and optimize supplier performance, including contract compliance, continuous improvement, innovation, and total cost of ownership reduction.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through a structured sourcing and project management process to achieve business operations and enterprise objectives.
  • Identify new business requirements and opportunities for cost savings, including process efficiencies and operational improvements.
  • Monitor, measure, and audit contract and supplier performance throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Business, Finance, Supply Management, Project Management, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience leading supplier negotiations and handling contracts within indirect spend or business operations categories.
  • Experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, process improvement, or related business functions.
  • Professional certifications such as CPSM, PMP, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of sourcing concepts, commercial negotiations, and contract management.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver enterprise value through effective negotiations across indirect spend categories.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to actively engage partners at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Proven ability to build strong internal partnerships and productive supplier relationships.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in the accomplishment of company goals.
  • Ability to be creative and innovative in finding solutions and negotiating strategies.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead others.
  • Creative and innovative attitude with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Evidence of an ability to work cross-functionally with colleagues across multiple groups and departmental including technology, operations, finance, and legal.
  • Ability to deliver value through leading vendor negotiations, identifying process improvements, enhancing market intelligence, and improving controls.
  • Ability to document the total value of sourcing activities in alignment with department and company objectives.

Actual pay rate may vary depending upon location. The estimated pay range for this position is below. The specific rate will depend on a candidate’s qualifications and prior experience.

$7,425.00 - $12,100.00

Estimated Ranges displayed are Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles.

This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible.
