About the Role

The FinTech team, part of the CFO’s organization, is responsible for innovating and building the best financial products and systems in the world. We are obsessed with our customers, building top-quality products, and operating with teamwork and transparency. We apply industry best practices to solve complex global business challenges at Uber's scale.

As a senior Application Developer on our Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) team, you will take a lead role in transforming a critical business process: headcount and workforce planning. You will be at the center of a high-visibility project to migrate our internally-built headcount management tool to Pigment’s planning module. This is a crucial initiative to create a more integrated, scalable, and efficient planning ecosystem for our Finance partners and business leaders. This role is supported by a Lead Product Manager who oversees the EPM portfolio, and you will work alongside other application developers who own other critical financial applications.

What You Will Do

  • Help Lead the Migration: Spearhead the end-to-end migration from our custom Workforce Planning application to the Pigment, ensuring a seamless transition for our business stakeholders.
  • Partner with Finance: Work directly with the Finance and cross-functional teams to deeply understand their headcount planning processes, data flows, and strategic objectives.
  • Architect the Solution: Translate complex business requirements into a robust, scalable, and efficient solution within the Pigment ecosystem. Design and configure the Pigment’s workforce planning module to meet Uber's unique needs.
  • Build and Integrate: Design, develop, and maintain sophisticated planning, forecasting, and reporting models within PIgment, with a primary focus on WFP. Build and support data integrations between Oracle Cloud, our data warehouse, and other source systems.
  • Empower Users: Coordinate and facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and conduct comprehensive end-user training to drive adoption and ensure our Finance partners are successful on the new platform.
  • Stay Ahead of the Curve: Remain current with market developments and EPM best practices to ensure Uber’s EPM environment is in line with changing requirements and cutting-edge technological solutions.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Anaplan or Pigment products and associated data integration tools

  • Strong functional understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, particularly in the area of headcount and workforce management.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve ambiguous issues by leveraging context clues, analyzing available data, and digging into resources independently before escalating.
  • Degree in Finance, Management Information Systems (MIS), or a related technical discipline—candidates with a systems background and a proven track record of working closely with Finance stakeholders are encouraged to apply.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Deep understanding of Anaplan/Pigment-specific best practices for model optimization, workspace organization, and performance tuning.
  • Proven experience leading at least one full-cycle migration from a custom-built or legacy planning system to Anaplan/Pigment planning modules.
  • Experience with Oracle EPBCS, specifically Oracle’s Workforce module
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and business teams.
