Role Summary 

The Senior Director Technical Product Manager – Finance Stat and Tax is responsible for the delivery of highly complex, cross disciplined technology programs that span multiple finance organizations. You will be responsible for defining and executing IT programs supporting the Stat & Tax functions, and monitoring key metrics to ensure milestones are met on time and on budget. Your mission is to support large-scale transformation projects for the enterprise. They define what the system should do, why, and how it will deliver business value, working closely with application, data, governance, and business stakeholders.

 

Roles and Responsibilities 

In this role, you will:

Leadership & Influence
  • Successfully navigate a matrixed organization to drive alignment and adoption across disparate business units ERP teams without direct line authority over those teams.
  • Demonstrate the ability to engage, advise, and present to senior leadership. You must be able to translate complex technical/experience metrics into clear, actionable business narratives that resonate with executive decision-makers.
  • Leverage your domain expertise; you are expected to further the knowledge and improve productivity of your colleagues with activities such as creating learning content, giving presentations, and supporting a continuous learning culture.
  • Own relationships with DT managed services provides and software provides that support the Tax applications, ensuring operations SLA’s are met and product roadmaps are understood while influencing product roadmaps that benefit GEV.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop a high-performing team of product managers and analysts. Foster an inclusive, high-trust team culture that prioritizes psychological safety and continuous growth.

     

    Strategy & Prioritization
    • Establish a long-term vision for the Tax ecosystem and maintain product roadmap prioritization, ensuring it remains aligned with the Tax team’s evolving business objectives
    • Foster collaboration for business-case development to justify the investment in automation and AI capabilities.
    • Orchestrate cross-functional alignment between DT and business unit ERP teams, ensuring proper planning and communication for needed ERP changes due to tax initiatives or compliance.
    • Champion lean principles to identify and eliminate manual process bottlenecks, ensuring the tax ecosystem is scalable and agile.
    • Oversee data architecture strategy for tax reporting to ensure compliance, accuracy, and auditability in a global, multi-regulatory environment.
    • Proactively identify and prioritize the elimination of technical debt within the tax stack to ensure system agility and long-term maintainability, rather than solely focusing on new feature delivery.
    Adoption & Enablement
    • Lead change management and adoption of Tax tools
    • Partner with ERP teams on their ERP simplification roadmap, ensuring Tax needs are met and the process is being simplified when appropriate.
    • Push standard tools and processes that help streamline and simplify the Tax DT systems.
    Customer Engagement & Experience
    • Own the end-to-end Tax DT communication strategy, engaging various stakeholders across Tax to ensure cohesive messaging.
    • Identify and evangelize high-impact AI use cases, institutionalizing success stories to scale effective AI usage across the tax team.
    • Act as the voice of the Tax business stakeholder; conduct regular empathy-led discovery sessions to understand "pain points" rather than just "requirements."
    Measurement & Insights
    • Provide Production Lifecyle Management by tracking program and run KPI’s leading and developing action plans that fix issues when they arise.
    • Surface insights from application usage and industry trends and offer recommendations for improvements to existing systems.
    • Track and monitor program status and metrics to ensure milestones are met, and internal and external delivery commitments are met.
    • Manage the entire product lifecycle—from strategy and inception to retirement—ensuring that the tax ecosystem is maintained, optimized, or sunsetted based on data-backed performance metrics.
    Leadership Reporting & Governance
    • Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on the health, productivity and risks of Tax systems.
    • Synthesize complex issues into executive briefings that drive leadership decision-making and support high-level DT system strategy shifts.
    • Lead high-visibility, cross-organizational projects, demonstrating the ability to manage complex internal politics and achieve buy-in without direct authority

    Education Qualification 

    • Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent knowledge or experience in Computer Science or “STEM” majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with significant experience. 

     

    Desired Characteristics 

    • 12+ years of experience in IT/DT, with at least 5 years in complex Finance systems, Tax technology, or ERP transformation programs (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or Tax engine implementations).

    • Proven track record of setting targets, executing a plan, and delivering results 

    • Ability to plan and provide structure and organization in a fast paced, changing environment 

    • Effectively manages risk and uncertainty for self and team. 

    • Strong business analysis and problem-solving skills 

    • Ability to decompose problems and make decisions when problems or solutions are not 100% defined 

    • Evaluates products & processes to assure compliance. 

    • Measures the impact of trends (cyclical or a shift) and takes action. 

    • Ability to interact at all levels of the organization, and with other GE businesses and partners 

    • Demonstrated experience leading and influencing across a complex, global matrix organization. 

    • Proactively identifies and removes project obstacles or barriers on behalf of the team 

    • Uses critical thinking skills and disciplined approaches to help leaders and leadership teams resolve issues and define solutions  

    • Proactively engages with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and design solutions using critical thinking and analytical skills and best practices 

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to interface with senior leadership with confidence and clarity 

    • Influences and energizes others toward the common vision and goal. 

    • Drives to new directions of meeting the goal in the face of unfavorable odds and setbacks

    For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $152,600.00 and $254,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

    Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
