Pay Transparency: Our salary ranges are structured to provide opportunities for growth and advancement within a role. As a result, most new hires are placed between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on qualifications and experience, while the top of the range is generally reserved for employees who have demonstrated sustained expertise and performance in the position. The starting base salary range for the Senior HR Benefits & Leave Analyst $87,500 to $109,350. The full salary range is $87,500 to $131,200. Actual salaries will vary by geographic location and are based on factors such as candidate’s qualifications, experience, skills, competencies, and company tenure & equity. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan based on company performance and individual performance.

Senior HR Benefits & Leave Analyst Overview

The Senior HR Benefits & Leave Analyst designs, develops, implements, communicates, and administers employee benefit and leave programs across the organization. This role is responsible for ensuring timely, accurate, compliant, and employee-focused service delivery while overseeing the administration and continuous improvement of benefit and leave offerings. The analyst partners closely with Payroll, Legal, HR, managers, employees, and third-party vendors to resolve complex benefit and leave matters, ensure regulatory compliance, and support key organizational initiatives.

Essential Duties:

  • Designs, administers, and evaluates health, welfare, retirement, and ancillary benefit programs.
  • Leads annual enrollment, including planning, system testing, vendor coordination, enrollment administration, communications, and issue resolution.
  • Ensures accurate benefit enrollments, changes, terminations, leave hours, pay codes, and payroll deductions; audits data and coordinates corrections and reconciliations.
  • Serves as the primary subject matter expert for employee leaves of absence and workplace accommodations, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and provides consultation and guidance to employees, managers, HR partners, and other stakeholders.
  • In partnership with a third-party administrator (TPA), manages end-to-end leave cases, including FMLA, short-term salary continuation, long-term disability, parental, caregiver, military, and other applicable federal, state, local, and company-sponsored leaves.
  • Creates and presents clear communications that promote awareness and understanding of programs and offerings.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve benefit and leave programs, processes, and service delivery; supports change initiatives; and partners with vendors, HR, and business stakeholders to respond to inquiries, provide guidance, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Collaborates with HR Information System team on system capabilities, configuration and testing, data integrity, interfaces, and reporting.
  • Serves as the key liaison with benefit, leave, and retirement vendors; manages relationships, monitors service delivery, and ensures effective program administration.
  • Maintains benefits policies, practices, guidelines, and documentation in compliance with federal and state legislation.
  • Maintains a calendar of all compliance requirements and ensures accurate and timely preparation and distribution of required reports, notifications and filings.
  • Analyzes data to improve plans and employee experience.
  • Leads employee well-being programming, planning and communication efforts; partners with ERGs on health and wellness events and activities.
  • Provides support across HR teams and functional areas.
  • Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to independently administer complex benefit, leave, disability, and accommodation programs and processes.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements, benefit and leave legislation, and regulations such as DOL, IRS, COBRA, HIPAA, ACA, and ERISA, and other federal and state laws.
  • Ability to interpret laws, policies, plan documents, and administrative requirements and apply them consistently to complex situations.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple cases, deadlines, projects, and assignments.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and provide clear, supportive consultation to employees, managers, colleagues, legal counsel, vendors, and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, decision-making, communication, presentation, customer service, and interpersonal skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including the ability to analyze, reconcile, summarize, and present data.
  • Advanced proficiency with HR information, payroll, and benefit administration systems

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in Human Resources, Business, or other related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ relevant work experience in benefits and leave administration, including health and welfare, retirement, disability, FMLA, and accommodation processes.
  • Or, equivalent military experience.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • 8+ years of progressively responsible benefits and leave experience, including leadership of complex projects, programs, or vendor relationships.
  • Self-insured experience.
  • UKG Pro or comparable HRIS and benefit administration system experience.
  • Professional certification such as PHR, SPHR, CEBS, or CLMS.
