RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply daily cash receipts from agents and insurance carriers.
  • Record direct bill commissions accurately.
  • Process daily accounts payable invoices to vendors and carriers.
  • Administer monthly commission payments to agents.
  • Process monthly return premium invoices.
  • Monitor and follow up on accounts receivables collections.
  • Assist in processing and reconciling tax payments
  • Complete month bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
  • Support day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Analyze and report on weekly cash flow needs.
  • Post monthly journal entries.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and maintain accounting records.
  • Participate in process improvement and automation initiatives.
  • Perform other accounting duties or projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of accounting experience; insurance industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of premium trust accounting.
  • Experience with an MGA (Managing General Agency) preferred.
  • Experience with IMS or another Agency Management System.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to use initiative and good judgement in accomplishing tasks with minimal errors/Must possess critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and implement process efficiencies.
  • Knowledge of NetSuite is a plus.
