As a part time, nonexempt Staff Pharmacist, you will fill orders with accuracy; check technician-prepared products before release; maintain the security of pharmacy and controlled substances; enter orders and patient information with accuracy; aid in the training of new staff; update the Director about the daily activities of the pharmacy; and aid the Director in maintaining the pharmacy.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Review, verify, and dispense medication orders to ensure appropriateness, safety, and accuracy
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services, including medication therapy management and pharmacokinetic dosing and monitoring
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to optimize medication regimens for hospitalized patients
  • Monitor patient outcomes and medication safety, identifying and preventing adverse drug events
  • Supervise and support pharmacy technicians and interns, ensuring efficient and compliant workflow
  • Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission, state, and federal requirements

Location: Heritage Oaks Hospital (125 bed) and Heritage Oaks Patient Enrichment Center (16 bed) are leaders in psychiatric and addiction treatment in the Sacramento, CA and surrounding area.
Schedule: This part time, nonexempt position will work every other weekend, Saturday, and Sunday from 8:00am-1:00pm, and occasionally as needed to help cover PTO, weekends, and holidays.
About the Pharmacy: The pharmacy utilizes HCS EMR and automated dispensing cabinets. Pharmacy hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 7:30am-7:00pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 8:00am-1:00pm.

Required Qualifications:
  • BS or PharmD from an accredited School of Pharmacy
  • Current California Pharmacist license in good standing
  • Experience using MS Office and pharmacy information systems
  • Demonstrated accuracy and timeliness in a work setting
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns

Preferred Qualification:
  • Behavioral health experience

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $44.09 to $78.70 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
