Building Healthcare That Remembers

Every time you call a doctor's office, the system forgets you the moment you hang up. You wait on hold, explain everything from scratch, get bounced between lines, and hope someone follows up. Everyone has felt this. No one should have to.

At Assort Health, we're building one continuous conversation for every patient. An AI agent that knows who you are, remembers how you like to be reached, and carries that context from your first symptom to your full recovery. What began as the first voice AI agent to schedule a specialty appointment has become the largest proprietary specialty dataset in healthcare: 285 million patient interactions, 62,000 care protocols, 1.6 million decision pathways.

We went from 15 people in 2025 and will cross 250 by the end of 2026. Revenue is up 20x in 15 months and we've raised $222 million, including a recent $120 million Series C at a $1.2 billion valuation. We've also been named to the Forbes Cloud 100 and the 2026 Enterprise Tech 30 as the only healthcare AI company on the list!

Healthcare spends $1.1 trillion a year on administration instead of care. If you want to help change that, apply below.

About the Role

As a Staff Product Designer, you’ll shape the experience and direction of our AI-native products for clinic staff, patients, and internal teams. You’ll connect individual workflows to a coherent product vision, tackling complex problems where design can meaningfully improve customer outcomes and drive growth.

You’ll partner with Engineering, Product, and GTM leadership to identify the right problems, influence priorities, and turn ambiguity into thoughtful, high-quality experiences. This is a hands-on role with influence across teams: you’ll lead critical initiatives from discovery through launch while building the systems, standards, and shared understanding that help others do better work.

We’re looking for someone who combines strong product judgment with exceptional craft, thinks beyond individual features, and brings clarity to complex decisions. You’ll have significant latitude to shape both our products and how design works across the company.

What you’ll do
  • Shape product direction: Partner with leadership to define a compelling experience vision, surface opportunities, and influence roadmap decisions across products.

  • Lead our most complex design initiatives: Take ambiguous problems from discovery through launch, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business priorities.

  • Make AI useful and understandable: Design experiences that help clinic staff, patients, and internal operators understand, trust, and effectively use AI.

  • Connect experiences across products: Anticipate dependencies, resolve fragmented workflows, and build patterns that scale across personas and touchpoints.

  • Drive measurable outcomes: Define success with cross-functional partners and use research, product data, and customer feedback to improve adoption, retention, and expansion.

  • Raise the quality of design across the company: Evolve our design system, strengthen collaboration with Engineering, and help teams ship quickly with a consistently high bar for craft.

  • Multiply your impact: Mentor other designers, provide thoughtful critique, and make your reasoning clear enough to guide decisions beyond the work you directly own.

What we’re looking for
  • A track record of shipping complex digital products and leading design initiatives that span teams or product areas. Startup experience is strongly preferred.

  • Evidence of shaping product strategy through design: identifying consequential problems, aligning stakeholders, and translating a longer-term vision into practical steps.

  • Experience designing for multiple personas and interconnected workflows, ideally in complex healthcare or AI-driven products.

  • Strong product judgment and a record of delivering measurable customer and business outcomes, such as adoption, conversion, retention, or expansion.

  • A portfolio that shows systems thinking and exceptional interaction and visual design, including full workflows, edge cases, and the decisions behind the work.

  • The ability to lead through influence: build alignment, navigate disagreement, and make sound decisions amid ambiguity.

  • A hands-on approach, with the ability to move between product strategy, detailed execution, and iteration with Engineering.

  • Deep Figma expertise and experience building scalable components, patterns, and design systems.

  • Fluency using AI tools to accelerate exploration, research synthesis, prototyping, and communication, with judgment about where they add value.

  • Comfort using tools such as Figma Make and Cursor to explore working interactions and collaborate across the design-development boundary.

Nice to have
  • Experience as an early design hire or founding designer at a startup.

  • Experience designing AI interactions involving uncertainty, human oversight, and user trust.

  • Design engineering experience and an interest in contributing production UI, reusable components, or design system infrastructure.
