Own Temporal’s AI ecosystem integrations and partnerships portfolio, including roadmap strategy, partner experiences, reference architectures, positioning, launches, enablement, and adoption. Engage customers and track the AI tooling market to prioritize investments. Collaborate with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Solutions Architecture, DevRel, and external partners to launch integrations, establish KPIs, and drive ecosystem momentum.

About the Role

AI teams are assembling their stacks from a fast-moving set of best-in-class tools — model providers, agent SDKs, evaluation and observability platforms, cloud services. Temporal is the durable execution layer that ties those pieces together and makes them production-grade. That position is a strategic advantage, and it needs a dedicated owner.

As Staff Product Manager, AI Ecosystem, you own Temporal's integrations and partnerships product portfolio — the surfaces where Temporal meets the rest of the AI stack. You'll define how Temporal is better together with best-in-class tools (eg, from OpenAI, Google, AWS, Braintrust, and more), and how Temporal becomes the durable foundation developers reach for from prototype to production.

This is a role where shipping the integration code is just the beginning. You'll drive business leverage through the narrative, the reference architectures, the enablement, and the sustained momentum that make an integration matter to customers and to the field. You'll partner with Engineering, Product Marketing, Partnerships, Sales, Solutions Architecture, and DevRel to take products to market and drive real adoption.

Location: San Francisco Bay Area (strongly preferred); remote (US) considered with heavier travel

What You'll Do
  • Own the integrations & partnerships product roadmap. Identify, prioritize, and sequence the integrations and partner experiences that make Temporal the execution layer of choice across the AI stack, and make the hard calls about what not to build.

  • Stay in the market daily. Be in customer conversations constantly and track a fast-moving AI tooling landscape. Turn what you learn into a roadmap grounded in real, current user needs.

  • Help define the "Temporal for AI" ecosystem story. Work with cross-functional partners to drive the positioning, reference architectures, and composable building blocks that help AI engineers see how Temporal fits their architecture — prescriptive enough to be useful, adaptable enough to fit their stack.

  • Take products to market with GTM. Partner with internal GTM (Product Marketing, Sales, Solutions Architecture, DevRel) and with partner GTM orgs to launch integrations and drive adoption.

  • Drive internal enablement. Make sure the field knows how to sell, deploy, and support every integration in the portfolio. Help build the demos, talk tracks, and reference materials at the right altitude.

  • Define and track success. Set the KPIs that tell us whether the ecosystem strategy is working. Our priors is that early-stage ecosystem bets are measured by adoption and momentum, not immediate revenue.

What You'll Bring
  • Staff-level product ownership. You take an ambiguous strategic question and turn it into a roadmap and shipped outcomes with minimal direction. 8+ years in product management or an equivalent track record.

  • Deep AI fluency. You are hands-on with the AI tooling landscape (eg, agent frameworks and SDKs, model providers, eval and observability tools) and you have an opinionated, well-reasoned view of where it's going. If you're not touching this technology regularly, you'll fall behind, and this role can't afford that.

  • Ecosystem, platform, or partnerships product experience. You've owned integrations, a developer platform, or partner-facing products, not just end-user features.

  • GTM partnership instincts. You've worked hand-in-hand with Product Marketing, Sales, Solutions Architecture, and external partners to launch products and drive adoption, and you can enable a field organization to sell something new.

  • Technical literacy. You reason fluently about AI systems, and can hold your own in a design conversation with Staff engineers. You don't need to write production code.

  • Narrative-grade writing. You build stories. You can write the document that aligns an organization and changes what it invests in.

Nice to Have
  • Background in distributed systems, durable execution, or workflow orchestration

  • Hands-on experience with Temporal or comparable systems

  • Prior DevRel, field-facing, or technical-marketing-adjacent experience

  • A track record of building reference architectures or developer enablement programs

Why Temporal
  • You'll shape how the industry builds AI. Temporal's position underneath the AI stack is rare and strategically valuable. You'll own a meaningful part of it.

  • Deeply involved in AI. We power many of the biggest names in the space, and partner with the companies defining it.

  • Open source at the core, a strong engineering culture, and a developer-first mission.

  • Well-funded with a strong growth trajectory.

  • Competitive compensation, equity, and comprehensive benefits.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta

  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
