About the company

Our client is a small healthcare technology company.

The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Serve as the senior hands-on technical lead on a small product engineering team, writing and reviewing code every day while guiding more junior engineers. The work covers building customer-facing features across the full stack, including LLM-powered functionality, and the role helps set engineering practices and architecture from an early stage.

What you'll do

- Take end-to-end ownership of AI-driven product features, from early design through release.

- Lead and mentor a small group of junior engineers, setting standards for code review and engineering workflow.

- Work alongside product, customer-facing staff and company leadership to scope what gets built next.

- Design and deliver full-stack work spanning user interfaces, back-end services, infrastructure and data pipelines.

Requirements

What we're looking for

- 8 or more years of software engineering experience.

- Prior experience directing the technical work of a group of engineers, including steering major initiatives and organizing colleagues' efforts.

- Product engineering background with hands-on delivery of customer-facing products built from the ground up, rather than deep infrastructure work.

- Full-stack ability to own a feature end to end, with a backend lean acceptable.

- Recent hands-on work bringing language-model-based functionality into live use over the past two years.

- Ability to set best practices for code quality and review on a team new to them.

- Works cross-functionally to understand user needs and help shape new products.

Bonus points

- Experience across both early-stage startups and larger engineering organizations.

- Computer science degree or equivalent work experience.

- Experience setting up AI evaluation or LLM observability tooling in production, and working with multi-step agentic pipelines.

- Interest in life sciences or healthcare.

Benefits

Compensation and benefits

- Base salary: USD 210,000 to 260,000 per year

- Equity

- Health insurance coverage

- Retirement plan
