Description

Bodewell Group is seeking a full-time Talent Acquisition Lead to lead the company’s recruitment efforts, build strong candidate pipelines, and deliver strategic talent solutions to support the organization’s continued growth. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Talent Acquisition Lead plays a pivotal role by delivering strategic talent outcomes to the growing Bodewell Group (BWG) workforce. This role focuses on attracting top talent, advising hiring managers, and helping shape the talent acquisition process and strategy of BWG as the company continues to expand. This individual will oversee all aspects of recruitment, from job description creation and posting to sourcing, reviewing, and building the candidate pipeline. This individual will rely heavily on proactive sourcing to meet the company’s hiring goals, primarily using LinkedIn Recruiter as well as networking, industry-specific job boards, and more to attract candidates. As this role matures, this individual may play a larger part in our LinkedIn employer branding strategy, in conjunction with marketing, to help shape the future of our talent attraction through strategic posting and partnerships. Success in this role will primarily be measured by time-to-close metrics.

Position:

Location and Travel: This person must be based in San Diego. Bodewell operates on a hybrid schedule, with three days onsite each week. Occasional travel to regional offices and locations may be required to attend networking events, recruiting events, career fairs, and other talent-related activities.

Compensation:

The annual base salary for this position is determined based on several factors, including the candidate's geographic location, experience, qualifications, job-related skills, internal equity, and applicable market conditions.

A typical annual base salary range for this role is $85,000–$105,000 (plus bonus opportunity). Depending on the candidate's experience, qualifications, and position within the range, the role may be classified as either exempt or non-exempt in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  

  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment for all open roles across BWG, including sourcing, screening resumes, conducting telephone screens, interviewing, reference checks, and creating and extending job offers.
  • Identify strategies and sourcing channels to build a pipeline of candidates for a wide range of public affairs, public relations and public outreach roles based on our project pipeline (projects range from government to private companies). 
  • Establish and maintain a strong industry presence, leveraging a professional online and social media presence, prospecting talent through your network; regularly attend industry events to continue curating a strong industry network.
  • Provide trusted advice and insight into hiring managers by using broad interviewing and assessment techniques to validate candidate skills and knowledge.
  • Consult with hiring managers and provide updates on the job market, candidate availability, sourcing methods, recruitment risks, and regional challenges.
  • Collaborate internally with the Resource Manger to forecast recruitment needs and initiatives based on upcoming project work. 
  • Develop job descriptions and job postings geared towards attracting talent and accurately sharing the benefits and opportunities of joining BWG.
  • Act as the primary guide throughout the recruitment process and ensure a smooth transition to the onboarding experience in partnership with the Human Resources team.
  • Continuously identify opportunities for process-improvement.
  • Use recruitment data and metrics to gain valuable insights into recruitment trends and incorporate into overall recruitment strategies.
  • Create and execute a sourcing plan for each open position to build a strong, varied talent pipeline and successfully identify, attract, and hire qualified individuals.
  • Develop strong connection to BWG’s culture to appropriately promote our workplace values, culture, career pathing and opportunities, and benefits.
  • Ensure all candidate data and information is captured and saved in the HRIS, regularly updating candidate statuses.  
  • Effectively use sourcing/recruitment tools, primarily focusing on LinkedIn Recruiter and industry specific job boards.
  • Deliver an exceptional candidate and hiring manager experience.
  • Build and maintain brand awareness, a network of industry contacts, and strategic external partnerships.
  • Regular engagement with internal partners including vertical leads, CCO, CGO and other leaders to review hiring needs and support recruiting activities.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • 8+ years' recruitment experience within infrastructure, public affairs, public relations or related industry experience.
  • Human Resources certification (SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR), or education in Human Resources or business-related area is preferred.
  • Exceptional organization with proven ability to thrive in a fast paced environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with team members as well as internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborative and proactive self-starter and problem solver.
  • Experience with sourcing tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter.
  • Experience working hard to fill roles and high-volume sourcing.
  • Able to operate independently to create recruitment sourcing pipelines and build a talent community.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Mix of both agency and in-house experience is an asset.
