Job Title: Technical Accounting Senior Analyst

Basic function: We are seeking a detail‑oriented and analytical Technical Accounting Senior Analyst to support the organization’s accounting policy, technical accounting analysis, and complex transaction assessment, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and IFRS, regulatory requirements, and internal controls. This role researches and interprets accounting guidance, prepares technical memoranda, and partners closely with Financial Reporting, FP&A, Legal, and other cross‑functional teams to support accurate financial reporting and disclosures. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset to resolve complex accounting issues while supporting senior leadership with well‑documented, high‑quality accounting conclusions aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, interpret, and apply US GAAP and IFRS to support accurate accounting conclusions and financial reporting
  • Prepare clear, well‑supported technical accounting memoranda for complex and non‑routine transactions (e.g., revenue recognition, equity‑based compensation, business combinations, impairments, leases, debt modifications)
  • Monitor, analyze, and implement new accounting standards; assess business impact and support adoption efforts
  • Support preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting by ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and disclosures
  • Maintain and update accounting policies, whitepapers, and internal guidance documentation
  • Provide technical accounting support for significant contracts and transactions, including review of commercial agreements in partnership with Legal and FP&A
  • Support Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) and J-SOX compliance, including documentation and evaluation of controls related to complex accounting areas
  • Perform accounting research to support internal controls, audits, and management judgment documentation
  • Partner with Financial Reporting to ensure consistent application of accounting policies across disclosures and financial statements
  • Coordinate with external auditors on technical accounting topics, including responding to audit inquiries and supporting documentation requests
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, and Investor Relations to ensure aligned accounting conclusions and disclosures
  • Identify opportunities to improve technical accounting processes, documentation standards, and research efficiency
  • Stay current on emerging accounting issues, industry practices, and regulator focus areas relevant to public companies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA required (or active pursuit)
  • 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a strong focus on technical accounting in a public company or SEC‑regulated environment
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS reporting considerations
  • Demonstrated experience researching, interpreting, and documenting complex accounting topics and non‑routine transactions
  • Familiarity with SOX requirements and internal controls related to complex accounting areas
  • Experience preparing technical accounting memos, policy documentation, and audit support materials
  • Ability to partner effectively with Financial Reporting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, Treasury, and external auditors
  • Strong analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving skills with sound professional judgment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical matters to non‑accounting stakeholders
  • High level of attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NetSuite ERP system and Workiva Reporting Solution.
  • Background in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) strongly preferred
  • Continuous improvement mindset and experience with process optimization.

Travel: The position may require up to 10% domestic travel.

Location: : San Diego, CA, & Phoenix, AZ preferred or open for remote 

Base : $70000-$115000

The pay range mentioned above is a guideline. We tailor each offer based on your unique skills, experience, location, and market benchmarks—while ensuring internal parity across our team. In addition to competitive base pay, total compensation may include a discretionary annual bonus and a market leading comprehensive health and wellness benefits package.
