Role summary

We're looking for a technical storyteller to own the external voice of our co-founder and CEO, Samar Abbas, and our co-founder and CTO, Maxim Fateev. You come out of developer relations, technical communications, or technical product marketing, turning technical depth into content developers respect, and you'll bring that craft to how both founders show up on stage, in print, and on their own feeds.

You can think alongside Samar and Maxim without a translation layer, and write in a way that earns a developer audience instead of talking past it. Part of the job is connective: you chase down the substance and positioning that feed their voice from across the company, then turn it into something worth reading.

This role reports to the Senior Director of Brand Communications, and it's built to grow. The person who does it well will shape how executive communications works at Temporal as the company and its founders' presence scale.

What You'll Do

  • Run their social and short-form voice: own the day-to-day presence, drafting posts, reactions, and takes in each founder's actual voice, knowing the difference between something that lands with developers on X or Hacker News and something that gets ratioed, and building their following as a channel you're accountable for.

  • Keep each of them sounding like themselves: learn how Samar and Maxim each think, well enough to surface what's genuinely theirs and keep a house voice from creeping in over it.

  • Ghostwrite their long-form: turn a rough voice memo or a whiteboard sketch of an argument into the essays, bylines, and technical posts that carry their thinking, finished enough to read like they wrote it themselves.

  • Prepare them to speak: build the narratives, talk tracks, and supporting material for Replay keynotes, customer meetings, fireside chats, and briefings, partnering with Product Marketing on the technical story and positioning, and running the prep so they walk in knowing the material cold.

  • Partner with Media Relations on earned credibility: work alongside the media team to translate the founders' point of view into press that lands, bringing the technical fluency to get their thinking right while they bring the reporters and the craft.

  • Travel: Maxim and Samar prefer frequent in-person collaboration, so travel is expected for this role.

What Success Looks Like

  • Samar and Maxim have strong, distinctive presences in their own voice, with followings that grow month over month among the developers and technical leaders who matter.

  • The longer you work with them, the more they sound like themselves, sharper and more distinct, and less like anyone media-trained them.

  • Their long-form lands with engineers and sparks real conversation, published on a steady cadence.

  • They're speaking at the conferences and on the podcasts you'd want them at, and they walk in fully prepared.

  • Inbound builds: podcasts, conference organizers, and reporters come looking for them.

  • Across social, stage, long-form, and press, the founders come through as the same sharp, credible people, and their reach compounds because of it.

What You'll Bring

  • Your background is in developer relations, technical communications, or technical product marketing, and you've made technical material that developers actually read. This part can't be faked.

  • You've run social for a company, a founder, or an executive, and you know the culture well enough to feel which posts land before you hit send.

  • You've written for or as a technical voice, and you know the difference between prose that reads well and words a specific person can actually say out loud as their own.

  • You're technically fluent. You can hold your own with an engineer and call out when an argument doesn't hold up.

  • You bring your own point of view and a backlog of ideas, and you don't wait to be handed a brief.

  • You live in this world, close enough to AI, infrastructure, and developer culture to know which conversations to pull the founders into and where things are heading next.

  • You move fast, take the ball, and keep pace with two founders who think out loud.

  • Familiarity with durable execution, workflow orchestration, or distributed systems is a real plus.
