Oura is looking for a Staff Engineer, Technical Lead to lead a new engineering team responsible for building and evolving a content management system used by multiple business teams and capable of publishing to multiple digital mediums across Oura. This team will be organizationally aligned to the Commerce Mission, with an initial focus on supporting our consumer website, ouraring.com; our blog, The Pulse; and our business website, organizations.ouraring.com.This role is a strong fit for a talented engineer who is comfortable operating across the technical stack, can guide architecture and delivery, and can coordinate work across a team of contributors. The right candidate will bring practical experience with content management systems, solid technical judgment in cloud-based environments, and the ability to partner effectively with engineering, product, design, marketing, and other business stakeholders.

What You Will Do:
  • Lead a new engineering initiative focused on content management capabilities that serve multiple business teams across Oura.
  • Define the technical direction for a CMS platform that supports publishing to multiple digital properties and channels.
  • Partner closely with the PM and cross-functional stakeholders to understand content workflows, publishing needs, governance requirements, and long-term platform opportunities.
  • Drive architecture and implementation decisions across front-end and back-end systems, with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, reliability, and ease of use.
  • Establish strong engineering practices for system design, delivery, observability, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Contribute directly to technical problem solving, code delivery, design reviews, and key implementation decisions.
  • Help the team balance short-term delivery for prioritized surfaces with longer-term platform investment.
  • Build strong working relationships with teams across Commerce and adjacent business and technical organizations.

This is a remote role based in the US.

What you'll bring
  • 8+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience leading large engineering projects, including technical direction and delivery planning,
  • Experience with agentic coding and emerging AI technologies.
  • Experience working with content management systems, including platform selection, implementation, integration, customization, or evolution in a multi-team environment.
  • Strong technical proficiency across the stack, with the ability to work effectively in both front-end and back-end codebases.
  • Experience designing and operating systems on a modern cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including system design, APIs, integrations, data flows, security considerations, and operational reliability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and align multiple stakeholders around platform direction, tradeoffs, and execution plans.
  • Comfort operating in an ambiguous environment where the team, platform boundaries, and roadmap are still being shaped.
Nice to have:
  • Experience building or supporting multi-site, multi-channel, or headless CMS architectures.
  • Experience partnering with marketing, content, digital, or web teams on publishing workflows and content operations.
  • Experience in e-commerce, growth, or customer-facing web platforms.
  • Familiarity with modern web architecture, experimentation, personalization, SEO, and content performance considerations.

Ōura takes a market-based approach to pay, which may vary depending on your location. US locations are categorized into tiers based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area. While most offers will be closer to the starting range, successful candidates' pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, internal peer equity, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Region 1 $198,050.00 - $233,000.00

Region 2 $180,200.00 - $212,000.00

Region 3 $169,150.00 - $199,000.00
