About F2

F2 is the AI platform transforming how private markets investors analyze deals and make investment decisions.

Private markets firms work with enormous amounts of complex, unstructured information across diligence, underwriting, portfolio monitoring, and investment workflows. F2 turns that information into actionable insights, helping investment teams work faster and make better decisions.

We work with leading financial institutions across private equity, private credit, investment banking, and asset management. F2 is backed by NFX, Y Combinator, Left Lane, Torch, and HighlandX.

We're growing quickly across New York, San Francisco, and London and are building the team to support our next stage of growth.

About the role

We’re hiring a Founding Technical Recruiter to help build the technical recruiting function at F2. You’ll partner directly with our engineering leadership and talent team to identify and hire exceptional talent across software engineering, forward deployed engineering, AI, infrastructure, and other technical roles, while helping shape the systems, processes, and recruiting strategy we use as we scale.

This is a hands-on recruiting role. You'll own searches end-to-end, but sourcing will be at the center of what you do. We're looking for someone who knows how to map technical talent markets, find exceptional engineers who aren't actively looking, and get them excited about an early-stage company.

You'll have significant ownership over some of the most important hires we make and help shape how F2 recruits technical talent as we scale.

What you'll do
  • Own technical searches end-to-end across Engineering and other technical functions

  • Build deep pipelines of exceptional passive engineering talent

  • Develop talent maps across target companies, technical backgrounds, and geographies

  • Partner closely with engineering leadership to define profiles and continuously calibrate on talent

  • Source and engage highly sought-after candidates through thoughtful, personalized outreach

  • Run a high-quality candidate process from first conversation through offer and close

  • Develop a strong understanding of F2's technology, product, and engineering culture and communicate that story effectively to candidates

  • Help hiring managers build structured interview processes and scorecards

  • Use recruiting data and pipeline metrics to identify bottlenecks and improve hiring velocity

  • Maintain an exceptional candidate experience while operating with speed

  • Help improve our recruiting systems, processes, and tools as we scale

What we're looking for
  • 3+ years of recruiting experience with meaningful experience hiring technical talent

  • A track record of sourcing and hiring exceptional software engineers

  • Strong technical sourcing skills and the ability to identify great candidates beyond obvious profiles

  • Comfortable recruiting passive candidates in highly competitive talent markets

  • Strong judgment and an ability to calibrate quickly with technical hiring managers

  • Excellent candidate management and closing skills

  • Experience partnering directly with engineering leaders

  • Comfortable managing multiple searches and priorities in a fast-moving environment

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through

  • High ownership, low ego, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed

  • Excited to work in person with the team in New York

Nice to have
  • Experience recruiting at a high-growth AI, fintech, or B2B software company

  • Experience recruiting engineers from top-tier technology companies and high-growth startups

  • Experience hiring AI/ML, infrastructure, or forward deployed engineers

  • Experience building technical teams at an early-stage company

  • Familiarity with Ashby or similar modern recruiting tools

Why F2

You'll join F2 at a stage where the quality of every engineering hire matters. You'll work directly with engineering leadership, own critical searches, and have significant autonomy over how you build pipelines and attract exceptional technical talent.

We're building an ambitious engineering team around a large opportunity at the intersection of AI and financial services. If you love finding exceptional engineers, enjoy the hunt, and want real ownership over the teams you're helping build, we'd love to hear from you.
