About the role

We are looking for a Technical Recruiter who thrives in early-stage ambiguity and is excited to help shape how Braintrust grows. We are a product and engineering company first, and the people we hire internally set the bar for everything we do.

In this role, you will be a core partner to engineering and leadership, with real ownership over how we find, evaluate, and close exceptional technical talent. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building systems while staying close to the work. If you are energized by strong technical teams, thoughtful process, and the chance to meaningfully influence a company’s trajectory, this role is for you.

What you'll do
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for engineering roles, from sourcing through offer acceptance, with a strong focus on quality and candidate experience.

  • Partner closely with engineering leaders to define roles, calibrate talent, and make great hiring decisions.

  • Clearly and authentically communicate what Braintrust is building, why it matters, and why now, serving as a trusted guide for candidates throughout the process.

  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve our recruiting strategy, interview process, employer brand, and candidate experience as we scale.

  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of top-tier technical talent, including passive candidates across multiple disciplines.

  • Track recruiting metrics thoughtfully and use data to understand what is working, what is not, and where we should experiment.

  • Provide tight, actionable feedback to leadership on market dynamics, candidate sentiment, and how our story is landing.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve recruiting operations without sacrificing quality.

Ideal candidate credentials
  • 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, ideally including time at a high-growth or early-stage company.

  • You build strong relationships with hiring partners and operate as a trusted advisor who is comfortable pushing for the best outcome.

  • You have successfully helped candidates understand and get excited about early-stage product and engineering teams, including how to think about equity, ownership, and long-term growth.

  • You are a builder at heart. You have started something before, whether a process, initiative, team practice, or side project, and you enjoy making things better than you found them.

  • You take feedback well, act on it quickly, and operate with high confidence and low ego.

  • You communicate clearly and warmly in writing, on calls, and when explaining complex technical opportunities simply and honestly.

  • You are comfortable with shifting priorities, ambiguity, and balancing multiple roles without losing sight of quality.

Benefits include
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance

  • Daily lunch, snacks, and beverages

  • Flexible time off

  • Competitive salary and equity

  • AI Stipend
