What will you be doing?

The Vice President, Global Revenue Operations & Accounting will lead Circana’s global Order-to-Cash organization and drive operational excellence across the revenue lifecycle. This leader will oversee billing, cash application, collections, revenue operations, and revenue accounting while ensuring globally consistent, scalable, efficient, and well-controlled processes. As a senior leader within the global Finance organization, this role will focus on accelerating cash conversion, driving automation, improving operational performance, and advancing a globally consistent revenue operating model while maintaining strong revenue accounting practices.

This leader will partner closely with Commercial, Sales Operations, Legal, FP&A, Treasury, IT, and regional controllership teams to improve operational performance and control effectiveness, eliminate friction points, enhance working capital outcomes, and support the Company’s long-term growth strategy.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the global revenue cycle, including revenue recognition and reporting, billing, collections, cash application, dispute resolution, and contract review, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal control requirements.
  • Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, reporting, and management review.
  • Own the end-to-end Order-to-Cash operating model, ensuring efficient execution from contract review through invoicing, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution.
  • Partner with Commercial and Sales Operations leadership to improve the customer experience and reduce operational friction throughout the revenue lifecycle.
  • Maintain and enforce global revenue recognition policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, ASC 606, SOX, and internal control requirements.
  • Research and apply U.S. GAAP guidance to complex and non-routine revenue transactions, including deferred revenue, direct costs, revenue-sharing arrangements, barter transactions, and multi-element deliverables.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives across global revenue operations, driving standardization, scalability, automation, and harmonization of revenue-related processes, controls, and reporting practices.
  • Partner closely with IT and business stakeholders to implement and enhance systems, improve data quality, and develop scalable solutions that support efficient revenue operations and financial reporting.
  • Leverage Dynamics CRM, NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management, NetSuite Billing, and other enabling technologies to drive automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across the revenue lifecycle.
  • Develop KPIs, analytics, and reporting that provide actionable insights into revenue performance, cash conversion, trends, variances, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner across Finance, Commercial, Sales Operations, Legal, Treasury, and IT to improve Order-to-Cash processes, resolve operational challenges, and support business growth.
  • Collaborate with Commercial, FP&A, Legal, and Operations teams to understand contractual arrangements, ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment, and support new products, offerings, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Work closely with the Company’s external auditors on revenue recognition, related controls, and audit requirements, ensuring timely and effective support throughout the audit process.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and development to global revenue operations, revenue accounting, and collections teams while evaluating organizational effectiveness and supporting future-state operating models.
  • Develop and execute a multi-year global Revenue Operations transformation strategy.
  • Evaluate opportunities to leverage AI, workflow automation, shared services, and outsourced support models to improve scalability, efficiency, and global consistency.

Requirements 

  • 15+ years of progressive experience across Revenue Operations, Order-to-Cash, Shared Services, Finance Operations, Revenue Accounting, or related functions. 
  • 5+ years of experience leading managers and developing global teams in a senior leadership capacity. 
  • Significant experience driving global Order-to-Cash or Revenue Operations transformation initiatives, including process standardization, automation, customer invoicing, collections, cash application, dispute management, and working capital optimization. 
  • Proven track record of improving DSO, cash conversion, billing effectiveness, control effectiveness, and operational efficiency. 
  • Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and experience applying revenue recognition principles across software, service contracts, revenue-sharing arrangements, barter transactions, and multi-element deliverables. 
  • Deep working knowledge of NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management and NetSuite Billing required, including an understanding of system capabilities, reporting, workflows, and downstream process impacts. 
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and modern Invoice-to-Cash technologies, such as AR automation, electronic invoicing and payment platforms, customer portals, and analytics solutions, preferred. 
  • Experience partnering effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Commercial, Sales Operations, Legal, Treasury, IT, FP&A, and regional controllership teams. 
  • Experience leading global teams and working with shared services, outsourced support models, or offshore resources. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge constructively, and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization. 
  • Proven ability to lead complex initiatives, navigate change, and deliver results within a dynamic, highly matrixed global organization. 
  • Ability to balance technical revenue accounting expertise with operational leadership, systems knowledge, and strategic thinking.

Location: This position can be located in the following area(s): Remote, US (Central & Eastern time zones preferred, Chicago based is a plus)

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $240,000 - $260,000 USD. This role is also eligible for bonus pay.
