About the role

NewsBreak is building ReelBee, an open short-drama distribution platform where any qualified creator or studio can self-publish, earn a transparent revenue share, and get real US audience insights. This is a CEO-sponsored, company-level initiative. As a Content Operations & Curation specialist (Senior Specialist / Lead level), you will be the hands-on engine of our title-selection system: reviewing, tagging and queuing titles, running tests, and turning performance data into decisions. We are hiring 2 people for this role, in parallel in the SF Bay Area (Mountain View) and Beijing. Bilingual (English and Mandarin) required.

What you'll do
  • Review and tag 40–60 new titles every week; verify AI-extracted tags (genre, character archetype, hook, paywall point, source tier) and judge quality and compliance, including common AI-drama issues such as lip-sync, hands and scene consistency
  • Manage the weekly test queue: combine selection-system scores with your own judgment, track 72-hour scorecards (CTR, CPI, first-3-episode completion, unlock rate, first-purchase rate) and recommend which titles move to scale
  • Run post-launch operations for winning titles (recommendation slots, push, in-app distribution, creative direction); review performance and build a playbook of what works with our users
  • Send title-level and creative-level performance reports to content partners every week, collect their feedback and help steer supply direction
  • Support supply BD with sample evaluation and trial-batch review for new suppliers; maintain catalog metadata quality
  • Track industry charts and TikTok short-drama trends; publish a weekly genre and hit-title brief, and calibrate your own picks against US charts and our performance data
What we're looking for
  • 2+ years of content operations, editorial, review or title-selection experience at a short-drama, web-fiction, short-video or content platform; short-drama platform experience (domestic or overseas) preferred
  • Heavy short-drama viewer: familiar with top titles on ReelShort, DramaBox and similar apps, and able to quickly judge whether a title's hook, pacing and paywall design work
  • Data-savvy: read completion curves, drop-off episodes and payment conversion and turn them into operating actions; strong Excel/Sheets skills; BI dashboards or SQL a plus
  • High throughput: keep judgment quality and pace at dozens of titles per week
  • Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin; able to review English-language series and subtitles and communicate with US partners
  • Proficient with AI tools (LLM summarization/tagging, AI subtitles, AI voice detection) to raise efficiency
Nice to have
  • Short-drama acquisition, rights or distribution experience
  • TikTok/YouTube short-drama channel operations experience
  • AI short-drama production or QC experience
