About the Role
Uber’s Revenue Platform is a near real-time financial platform that processes billions of transactions and translates complex business activities into compliant financial accounting transactions.
As an Application Developer II on the FinTech Revenue Product team, you will design, develop, enhance, and support financial applications that enable critical Order-to-Cash, revenue accounting, accounts receivable, billing, payment, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
This role combines technical development, financial systems expertise, and business analysis. You will partner closely with Finance, Accounting, Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations teams to understand business needs, translate requirements into scalable system solutions, and drive solutions through design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
You will also have opportunities to leverage AI and automation technologies to improve how financial systems and business processes operate, including building agents, skills, and automated workflows that streamline new business onboarding and other operational processes.
This role provides an opportunity to solve complex financial and technical problems while improving the scalability, accuracy, automation, and operational efficiency of Uber’s global financial systems.
What You'll Do
- Design, develop, configure, and enhance financial applications and integrations supporting the Order-to-Cash lifecycle, including revenue accounting, billing, accounts receivable, payments, settlements, and reconciliation.
- Partner with Finance, Accounting, Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into functional and technical solutions.
- Analyze business processes, system workflows, and financial data to identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for automation and process improvement.
- Develop clear business and technical requirements, user stories, solution designs, and
- implementation plans.
- Build and maintain system configurations, integrations, automation, and data-processing solutions within core revenue and settlement platforms.
- Use SQL and large datasets to perform financial analysis, reconciliation, validation, and
- troubleshooting.
- Leverage AI tools and technologies to create agents, skills, and automated workflows that improve efficiency and automate new business onboarding, requirements analysis, validation, and other financial system processes.
- Partner with engineering teams on solution design, system integration, implementation, and technical issue resolution.
- Lead or support system integration testing, UAT, production deployment, and post-production validation.
- Investigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate with upstream and downstream teams to drive issues to resolution.
- Support month-end close, financial controls, reconciliations, and audit requirements by ensuring financial transactions are processed accurately and completely.
- Manage system enhancements and modifications to meet evolving business, accounting, and operational requirements.
- Drive complex cross-functional financial systems initiatives from requirements through successful production rollout.
- Provide functional and technical expertise to internal stakeholders on revenue, receivables, billing, payment, settlement, and reconciliation processes.
- Maintain appropriate system and process documentation to support operational, financial control, audit, and compliance requirements.
What You'll Need
- 4+ years of experience developing, implementing, configuring, analyzing, or supporting enterprise applications and financial systems.
- Strong experience with financial systems, accounting systems, ERP platforms, or revenue and settlement applications.
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with large and complex datasets.
- Ability to translate complex business and accounting requirements into scalable functional and technical solutions.
- Good understanding of accounting and financial processes, including revenue, accounts receivable, billing, payments, settlements, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Experience supporting enterprise financial processes such as month-end close and financial controls.
- Experience with application integrations, system configurations, data flows, testing, troubleshooting, and production support.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to build agents, skills, or automated workflows that streamline business processes, including new business onboarding, requirements analysis, validation, and operational workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to perform root-cause analysis across complex systems and datasets.
- Proven ability to drive complex, cross-functional projects and system enhancements through completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in Excel and other data-analysis tools.
Bonus Points
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with Oracle, SAP, or other enterprise ERP and financial platforms.
- Experience with APIs, system integrations, data pipelines, and enterprise application architecture.
- Experience building or supporting large-scale financial applications in a FinTech or technology environment.
- Experience working with high-volume transaction processing and big-data environments.
- Experience with accounting automation, financial reconciliation, subledger, or general ledger systems.
- Hands-on experience applying AI, agents, or workflow automation to enterprise financial or operational processes.
- Experience working in complex regulatory, audit, financial control, and compliance environments.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD $153,000 per year - USD $170,000 per year.
You will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. All full-time employees are eligible to participate in a 401(k) plan. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
