What We Do

We are looking to hire motivated, curious, and innovative multiple Product Manager IIIs for our Navigation organization. The Navigation teams at Mapbox are revolutionizing in-car experiences with technology to build fast, industry-leading maps and navigation for any vehicle. We’ve launched products such as MapGPT, Mapbox for EV, and we’re enhancing the visual experience of in-vehicle navigation with 3D styling with our new Mapbox Standard through web and mobile SDKs. Mapbox has worked with automotive partners—including BMW, Toyota, and GM—to bring the best aspects of mobile app development into in-vehicle navigation and infotainment.

What You'll Do

As a Product Manager III at Mapbox, you will partner with a passionate group of globally distributed engineers, external customers, and internal stakeholders like Sales, Product Marketing, Legal, Marketing, and Finance to make customers wildly successful in pursuit of outsized business growth.

As an Product Manager you can expect to:

  • Define and execute end-to-end vision and strategy for your product.

  • Conduct analysis to inform your product roadmap and prioritize product backlog.

  • Work with your engineering team(s) and the broader organization to explore and implement new use cases for your product that address customer pain points and unlock new revenue opportunities.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align product goals and delivery phases with overall business objectives.

  • Regularly engage our customers via video conversations, emails, and in person visits (10% travel) to understand their needs, as well as validate our proposed solutions.

  • Own pricing and packaging of your product as a standalone SKU (including sales enablement, marketing, customer trials, partnership opportunities).

  • Become the expert and point of contact of your product for internal and external questions, feedback, and requests.

  • 7+ years as a Product Manager: You have seen multiple products (API, SDK, or Data) through a full lifecycle of discovery, development, launch, and adoption in the B2B space.

  • Customer focus: You care deeply about your customer’s problems with a keen eye towards design and user experience.

  • An analytical approach: You have strong data analytics skills and always use data to properly evaluate the quality of your product, as well as guide your next steps.

  • Prioritization: You have clear rationale behind the tradeoffs you make and strive to deliver immediate/tangible value to customers.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills: You can communicate about complex ideas concisely to a wide audience (e.g. FAQs and business cases for your roadmap).

  • Ownership: You can develop and execute a plan based on high level direction for feature or product development.

  • Invent & Simplify: You drive toward the simplest possible solution that drives the most value for customers.

  • Technical Chops: You understand and can explain complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

  • Go-to-market experience: You have taken your product to market owning the pricing and packaging strategy.

  • Nice-to-haves: Experience working with AI/ML teams and passion for the navigation domain space.

Our annual base compensation for this role ranges from $179,350 - $242,650 for most US locations and 5% to 10% higher for US locations with a higher cost of labor. Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location.
