The Compliance Engineering team provides the tooling and engineering support that helps Datadog scale its growing global compliance portfolio. We build and operate internal platforms that support governance, risk, and compliance workflows, including control management, framework mapping, gap assessments, inventory management, audit enablement, and user access review. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will build full-stack products for internal stakeholders across Compliance, Governance, Internal Audit, and Customer Trust, helping them operate efficiently as Datadog expands into new markets with evolving requirements. This is an opportunity to grow as a full-stack engineer in a specialized area at the intersection of software engineering, security, and compliance.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds, and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and maintain full-stack features for Datadog’s internal compliance platforms, from database design and backend services to APIs, frontend workflows, and user experiences

  • Own and deliver small projects or features independently, and contribute to larger initiatives with support from your manager and senior engineers

  • Contribute to Datadog’s home-built governance, risk, and compliance platform, including capabilities for control management, framework mapping, gap assessments, audit support, and control health signals

  • Partner with stakeholders across Compliance, Governance, Internal Audit, and Customer Trust to understand operational needs, clarify requirements, and propose pragmatic technical solutions

  • Develop automations and workflows for continuous monitoring, inventory management, training validation, user access review, and integrations with SaaS, cloud provider, and internal systems

  • Use AI-assisted and agentic coding tools to enhance your development loop while maintaining strong ownership of code quality, testing, maintainability, and production readiness

Who You Are:

  • You have experience building full-stack applications and are comfortable working across backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend interfaces

  • You have experience with or interest in technologies such as Go, Python, React, TypeScript, SQL, PostgreSQL, Temporal, or similar tools

  • You are comfortable and proficient using AI-assisted and agentic coding tools as part of your day-to-day development workflow

  • You can take a defined product or technical direction, work through ambiguity with collaborators, and deliver modular, maintainable code

  • You are comfortable partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to understand user needs and build tools, workflows, dashboards, forms, tables, or data visualizations that help them work more effectively

  • You have a BS/MS/PhD in a Computer Science, Engineering or related scientific field or equivalent experience

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.

Benefits and Growth:

  • Opportunity to grow as a full-stack engineer while building products in a specialized and high-impact area of information security and compliance

  • Exposure to Datadog’s internal platforms, telemetry, workflow automation, and engineering practices through hands-on product development

  • Opportunities to deepen your technical ownership of team services while learning from senior engineers and cross-functional partners

  • Product training to develop an in-depth understanding of Datadog’s platform, customers, and business

  • Continuous career development and pathing opportunities for internal mobility

  • Intra-departmental mentor and buddy program for in-house networking

  • New hire stock equity, employee stock purchase plan, and generous global benefits
