About the company
Our client is an early-stage software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Own a specialized engineering domain within a software platform, pairing hands-on development with deep technical design knowledge. The work spans shaping product direction, setting quality standards for automated outputs, reviewing results and supporting early external users.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain domain-specific content libraries on top of a core software engine, converting specialist knowledge into clear acceptance criteria.
- Drive product thinking for your area, defining what strong tooling should look like and spotting gaps in the current strategy.
- Review automated design outputs for quality, confirming they satisfy professional standards and practical needs.
- Spend a few hours each week with external collaborators, learning how they work, seeding initial content and helping new users get started.
- Write production code in Python and TypeScript to deliver platform features, using AI coding assistants to move quickly.
Requirements
What we're looking for

- Solid professional software development background that goes well beyond simple scripts.
- Proficiency in Python or TypeScript.
- A bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering, computer science, physics or computational design from a highly ranked university.
- Self-direction and a habit of proposing your own product ideas rather than waiting for tasks.
- Comfort with occasional customer-facing conversations.
- Ability to work on-site five days per week.
Bonus points
- Experience creating internal automation or computational design tools at an engineering or construction firm.
- Academic grounding in both a physical science or engineering discipline and computing.
- Familiarity with design and modeling software, as a user or developer.
- Knowledge of heating and cooling system design, including layout, load estimation and equipment selection.
