About the company
Our client is a fast-growing software company.
The role
Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design and build high-volume backend services and integrations that connect legacy business systems to modern software, with some front-end work as well. You will own features end to end, ship code frequently and adjust based on direct customer feedback.
What you'll do
- Design scalable backend services that present many differing external systems through one consistent interface.
- Build secure, reliable connections to older on-premises systems, including real-time communication where none exists natively.
- Handle very large request volumes, with efficient data storage and retrieval and caching to keep latency low.
- Create automated testing frameworks that catch edge cases and regressions across a large number of endpoints.
- Research the quirks of each new system integration in depth before building on it.
- Build front-end applications that use the company's own APIs, and feed what you learn back into API design.
- Ship code daily and iterate quickly using feedback from paying customers.

- Recent experience at a small technology startup, or a clear interest in joining one.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure such as AWS.
- A genuine interest in core backend and platform engineering rather than a primary focus on working with AI.
- A proactive, accountable and humble working style, with enthusiasm for raising engineering standards in a quick-moving team.
- Willingness to work in person five days a week.
