ABOUT RETOOL
Nearly every company in the world runs on custom software for critical operations like tracking performance metrics, handling customer support workflows, building admin dashboards, and countless other processes you might not have even thought of. But most companies don't have adequate resources to properly invest in these tools, leading to a lot of old and clunky internal software or, even worse, users still stuck in manual and spreadsheet flows.

At Retool, we’re building the first enterprise AppGen platform: software that transforms natural language into production-ready code, integrates directly with business data, and meets the highest standards of security and governance. AI is redefining what it means to build software—and who gets to build it. The definition of “developer” now includes analysts, operators, and domain experts creating solutions directly. As the pool of builders widens, so does the complexity of what they need to build. The opportunity is enormous, but so is the challenge of enabling this larger community to build production-grade software safely. That means AI that understands real business data, enforces enterprise policies automatically, and empowers teams to create once and reuse everywhere with shared, trusted components.

Over 100 million hours of work has been automated by developers and domain experts using our platform, freeing them to focus on creative problem-solving and strategic initiatives that drive real business value. The people closest to knowing what needs to be built can now safely create custom solutions within enterprise guardrails. And that's a mission worth striving for.

Let's build the future together!
WHY WE'RE LOOKING FOR YOU:
We’ve built a powerhouse foundation that’s brought Retool to thousands of customers and we’re just getting started. The next chapter is bigger. Faster. More ambitious. The next phase is about scaling EPD with intention: hiring exceptional engineers who ship fast and think in systems, product leaders who turn ambiguity into strategy, and designers who raise the bar on craft and usability.

We’re looking for a Technical Recruiter to help us scale our Engineering, Product, and Design org. You won’t just fill roles—you’ll shape how we build these teams. From partnering closely with EPD leadership on headcount strategy to refining how we assess technical and product talent, you’ll influence both who we hire and how we hire.
If you’re excited about building the kind of EPD org that sets the pace (not follows it), let’s talk.

WHY WE’RE LOOKING FOR YOU
In this role, you’ll be on the front lines of hiring high-impact technical talent across Engineering, Product and Design roles. As Retool continues to grow and power mission-critical tools for some of the world’s best teams, you’ll play a key role in shaping the people who build the tools that drive our customers’ success.

You’ll partner closely with EPD leaders to lead full-cycle recruiting, from sourcing and pipeline strategy through closing candidates. You’ll develop a deep understanding of Retool’s product, customers, and vision, and translate that into a compelling story for candidates. Along the way, you’ll bring best practices to EPD hiring, iterate on what’s working, and use data and metrics to guide decisions and surface risks early.

Beyond managing pipelines, you’ll act as a trusted thought partner to hiring managers at varying stages of growth. You’ll help them define roles, calibrate talent, and build teams that can scale effectively—ultimately ensuring the sales organization has the people it needs to execute on Retool’s ambitious goals.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH:
The Talent team at Retool is small, collaborative, and highly impactful. Recruiting has long been a team sport here, and we’re proud of the recruiting-forward culture we’ve built across the company. You’ll partner closely with recruiters, coordinators, and hiring teams to set goals, deliver a stellar candidate experience, and support ambitious hiring plans.

We’re a diverse bunch with a variety of backgrounds: some of us come from outside tech, others from long careers in it.  We’re a slightly sarcastic, dedicated, and hard-working group, who values curiosity, candor, and kindness (matcha and GIFs included). We’re excited to grow our team with people who want to help shape both our culture and how we work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Own the full-cycle recruiting process for EPD roles from kickoff and sourcing through offer close, and in close partnership with EPD leadership, hiring managers, and recruiting peers
  • Lead hiring across Engineering, Product and Design roles
  • Build and maintain strong pipelines of technical talent using creative, non-traditional sourcing strategies, competitive mapping, and territory-based outreach
  • Use recruiting metrics to guide your work, interpret pipeline health, surface risks, and present insights to hiring partners
  • Drive hiring decisions by acting as a trusted advisor during calibration, debriefs, and final decision-making
  • Design and implement sales-specific recruiting processes that effectively assess functional expertise, business acumen, and cultural alignment
  • Create exceptional candidate experiences by clearly communicating Retool’s product, mission, and market opportunity
  • Collaborate closely with Recruiting Operations, coordinators, and recruiting teammates to ensure a smooth, consistent, and scalable hiring process
  • Contribute to building a diverse, high-performing sales organization aligned with Retool’s long-term growth goals

THE SKILLSET YOU'LL BRING:
  • 4+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience on the Engineering side, ideally in a fast-paced or high-growth environment
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and helping hiring teams build structure and excellent recruiting practices
  • Strong stakeholder management skills + excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with candidates and internal stakeholders
  • Demonstrated understanding of recruiting metrics, conversions, and a constant desire to improve how we operate
  • Past experience in working with multiple hiring managers and demonstrated success closing candidates
  • A genuine interest in diversity and inclusion that you imbed into your recruiting practices
  • A business-first attitude
  • A desire to be a foundational team member and build a world-class team
