About Cartesia

Our mission is to architect AI that learns from and interacts with the world like humans do.

We're pioneering the model architectures that will make this possible. Our founding team met as PhDs at the Stanford AI Lab, where we invented State Space Models or SSMs, a new primitive for training efficient, large-scale foundation models. Our team combines deep expertise in model innovation and systems engineering paired with a design-minded product engineering team to build and ship cutting edge models and experiences.

We're funded by leading investors at Index Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners, along with Factory, Conviction, A Star, General Catalyst, SV Angel, Databricks and others. We're fortunate to have the support of many amazing advisors, and 90+ angels across many industries, including the world's foremost experts in AI.

About the Role

Cartesia is hiring for Workplace Operations to own internal events, provide light administrative support to our founders, and to grow into leading the search for and buildout of our next office, plus new international hubs as we expand globally.

This is a high-trust, high-agency role. You'll be the person who makes Cartesia a place the team is proud to show up to and bring candidates into, the one the founders rely on to keep their day-to-day running smoothly, and the one who builds and runs every new space we open as we scale.

What You'll Do
  • Own internal events & culture programming: Plan and execute team events, from small happy hours to in-office fireside chats events, end-to-end and without hand-holding.

  • Support the founders: Handle light administrative work, including calendar, travel, ad hoc requests, with the speed and discretion it requires.

  • Run day-to-day office operations: Keep supplies stocked, vendors managed, and the office running before anyone notices something could break.

  • Manage vendors & budget: Track spend, negotiate contracts, and flag anomalies or cost-saving opportunities before they become problems.

  • Own the office component of onboarding: Make sure every new hire's desk, equipment, and access are ready on day one.

  • Lead the search for Cartesia's next office: Own site selection, tours, lease negotiation, design/buildout, and move logistics end-to-end. This will be your biggest project next year.

  • Stand up new international hubs: As we open new offices globally, own the space, local vendors, and experience in every new location.

What You Bring
  • 2–5 years of office management, workplace coordination, recruiting coordination or executive/administrative support at a fast-moving company, ideally in tech or a startup environment.

  • Vendor and facilities management experience. You know how to negotiate, hold vendors accountable, and escalate when needed.

  • Budget management comfort. You can track spend, flag overruns, and think in cost-per-employee terms.

  • Comfortable providing light administrative/executive support to founders or senior leadership, with the discretion and responsiveness that requires.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity. You've operated where the process didn't exist yet and built it while running.

  • Genuinely care about making spaces and experiences better. You take pride in the details most people don't notice.

  • Genuinely excited about people and culture, not just logistics. You're the person hyping up the room, not just running it

Nice to Have
  • Experience at a company that went through rapid headcount growth. Have been the first Office Manager at a company and built the function from scratch.

  • Have led or closely supported an office search, lease negotiation, or HQ relocation.

  • Experience standing up a new office in a new city or country.

Note: Cartesia participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with Form I-9 information to confirm employment eligibility after hire.
