San Francisco-based insurance tech company Embroker announced Thursday that it has made Ben Jennings its new chief executive officer. He will assume the new position and a seat on the board effective immediately.

Jennings has nearly three decades of leadership and technology experience. Prior to this advancement, he served as Embroker’s chief revenue officer for four years. And after an extensive internal and external search conducted by the company’s board following the departure of founding CEO Matt Miller, Jennings was chosen to lead the business forward.

“Over the years, Ben has proven himself a strong and capable leader for Embroker, making the board’s decision to elevate his role to CEO an easy choice,” Embroker board member Mike Vostrizansky said in a statement, citing Jennings’ “customer-centric mindset,” “strong leadership capabilities” and “sharp decisiveness” as ideal traits for continuing the company’s growth. “We’re excited to continue to work with Ben as he utilizes our proprietary technology to supply the market with highly sought after, tailored industry-specific insurance coverages.”

Founded in 2015, Embroker operates as a digital broker, with a focus on industry-specific insurance for businesses. The company uses predictive modeling as well as proprietary technology to assess risk and fully automate the underwriting process, creating policies that can protect companies from said risk.

In early 2023, Embroker launched ONE by Embroker, a tool that uses AI and machine learning to generate insurance products based on a specific businesses’ individual risk profile and coverage needs. With Jennings at the helm, the company will continue advancing this product, as well as expanding its platform and technology overall.

“I am immensely proud to lead the talented Embroker team and to continue transforming the insurance industry through technology innovations,” Jennings said in a statement. “Technology is the catalyst to bring Embroker into the next era of insurance for businesses. That’s why my first priority is further building our platform so we can innovate faster and better, meeting the needs of businesses where they’re going tomorrow — not just where they are today.”
