Leads integrated executive and corporate communications for BioMarin’s Chief R&D, Technical, and Business Officers. Develops messaging and engagement strategies across internal and external channels, including media, investor, social, web, events, speeches, and employee forums. Advises senior leaders, strengthens external visibility, translates complex scientific and business topics into compelling narratives, and drives alignment across a complex organization. Also supports business milestones, change communications, and issues or crisis management.

Provides legal counsel to pharmaceutical commercial, marketing, medical affairs, and communications teams. Reviews promotional materials through MLR committees, negotiates commercial contracts, advises on healthcare regulations and compliance risks, supports investigations and corrective actions, and briefs executives on FDA, OIG, and industry enforcement trends.

Manages high-volume contract and requisition workflows from initiation through approval and signature. Coordinates procurement, finance, legal, vendors, and internal stakeholders; researches and maintains supplier records; drafts and routes NDAs, scopes of work, and change orders. Supports market research and social listening compliance, data quality, governance, audit readiness, and process improvement within a regulated biotech environment.

Leads U.S. controllership accounting changes related to business initiatives, strategic transactions, integrations, and transformation efforts. Bridges technical accounting and operations by implementing processes, controls, reporting requirements, and operational guidance. Drives process improvements, documentation, metrics, issue remediation, system implementations, account mapping, data validation, and post-implementation stabilization. Partners with Technical Accounting, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, IT, and other stakeholders while evaluating automation and AI-enabled solutions.

Provides high-level executive support to the Chief Scientific Officer, including calendar and travel management, meeting preparation, communications, and stakeholder coordination. Coordinates R&D leadership activities, tracks deliverables and milestones, identifies risks, supports executive reporting, and maintains Teams and SharePoint workspaces. The role also streamlines workflows, supports internal communications, and serves as a cross-functional liaison while handling sensitive information with discretion.

Directs US payroll and global stock operations, overseeing biweekly payroll, tax reconciliations, year-end filings, payroll controls, audits, SOX compliance, data security, vendor integrations, and Oracle Fusion testing. Leads payroll and stock teams, manages projects, develops procedures, supports cross-training, and collaborates with Finance, Tax, Benefits, HR, IT, Legal, and audit partners.

Provides strategic legal counsel to BioMarin’s Early Research and Development organization. Leads negotiation and drafting of research, collaboration, licensing, technology, academic, and services agreements. Advises on intellectual property ownership, licensing, commercialization, data rights, publication rights, governance, and contractual risk. Partners with scientific, business, intellectual property, procurement, compliance, and business development teams while supporting due diligence, process improvements, legal training, and strategic innovation partnerships.

Leads global strategic sourcing and category management for BioMarin’s external contract manufacturing network. Responsibilities include CMO selection and due diligence, API sourcing, contract negotiations, supplier risk mitigation, supply chain resilience, executive reporting, and building a high-performing procurement team. The role partners with Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, Technical Development, Finance, and External Operations teams while managing biologics and small-molecule manufacturing requirements.

Serves as the lead finance business partner for Technical Development and Global Quality. Leads budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, variance analysis, scenario modeling, investment evaluation, resource allocation, KPI development, and executive reporting. Partners with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to translate operational priorities into financial plans, assess risks and opportunities, oversee expenses and capital investments, and improve FP&A processes, systems, and reporting in a global biotechnology environment.
