Partners with engagement teams, legal counsel, HR, insurance providers, and technology teams to identify and remediate operational, contractual, professional, and regulatory risks across restructuring, bankruptcy, litigation, and ABC engagements.

Manage sales tax compliance for clients, including state and local tax returns, registrations, business licenses, exemption certificates, tax accruals, reserves, journal entries, and use tax matters. The role involves supervising staff, managing information, communicating with clients and tax authorities, resolving issues, and collaborating with tax professionals across the firm.

Prepares and reviews financial statements, general ledgers, workpapers, partner capital reports, interest accruals, management fees, capital allocations, investor notices, cash reconciliations, and NAV calculations for real estate funds. Supports year-end audits, contributes to client relationships, and mentors junior staff. Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting and at least three years of fund accounting or financial services assurance experience.

Assists with IRS examinations, appeals, penalty abatement and relief requests, collection matters, tax account issues, and federal tax research. Drafts tax memoranda and appeals protests, communicates with IRS personnel, and supports training programs and thought leadership publications. The role requires a J.D., passage of a state bar exam, and at least one year of tax controversy or tax-related experience.

Supports government clients with FEMA-funded disaster recovery programs, including regulatory compliance, audit readiness, disaster closeout, financial management, cost tracking, reconciliation, program implementation, and client deliverables. Participates in business development and proposal activities. The role requires knowledge of FEMA programs and regulations, state or local recovery experience, strong analytical and organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and AI productivity tools. Occasional extended hours and travel to client or firm locations may be required.

Conduct federal income tax research and analysis involving partnerships, S corporations, C corporations, accounting methods, digital assets, M&A structuring, and restructuring. Draft tax memos, emails, firm-wide tax alerts, and training materials. Support domestic tax due diligence for M&A transactions while providing consulting services to clients.

Manage state and local tax consulting and compliance engagements, including multistate tax return review, sales tax studies, audit defense, due diligence, tax research, legislation analysis, pass-through entity issues, and tax planning. Collaborate with clients and internal tax professionals while reviewing complex partnership and corporate filings and advising on nexus, apportionment, withholding, and related state tax matters.
