Mechanical Engineering Intern designing robotic humanoid hand and wheeled robot components. Responsibilities include CAD design, structural analysis, prototyping, manufacturing optimization, actuator and electronics integration, supplier coordination, testing, validation, and fixture development. The intern will collaborate cross-functionally and help move designs from concept through production in a fast-paced environment.

Own end-to-end mechanical design of robotic humanoid hands and end-effectors, including mechanisms, actuators, transmissions, structural analysis, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing drawings. Lead rapid prototype-build-test iterations, collaborate with electrical and software teams, manage suppliers, and take electromechanical products from concept through production.

Own the robot’s industrial design from concept through production, including form, materials, finishes, and color. Build the company’s visual brand, design system, marketing assets, website, trade show presence, and demo videos. Design operator-facing UX for robot monitoring and control, collaborate closely with engineering teams, and establish design workflows and future team structure. The role requires having shipped a physical product into medium-to-high volume production.

Design and implement real-time control and motion systems for bimanual wheeled robots. Responsibilities include supervisory control, trajectory blending, inverse kinematics, sensor fusion, actuator integration, motor control, gain tuning, and safety-limit implementation. The role involves deploying code to physical hardware, debugging production issues, and improving robot localization, manipulation, and autonomous-to-teleoperated transitions.

Develop and maintain robotics software infrastructure, sensor and device drivers, safety systems, testing frameworks, observability tools, and fleet-management capabilities. Improve reliability and performance across Linux-based robotics systems through diagnostics, monitoring, telemetry, staged rollouts, and rollback mechanisms. Collaborate with hardware interfaces and embedded environments to support safe, reliable robot operation.

Own end-to-end electrical design for robotic humanoid hands and end-effectors. Design high-density PCBs, motor drivers, sensor interfaces, and power systems; develop embedded firmware for real-time control; and validate hardware through bench testing and hardware-in-the-loop setups. Collaborate with mechanical and firmware engineers on integration, EMI shielding, thermal management, communication protocols, and prototype debugging.

Electrical Engineer Intern supporting humanoid hand and end-effector designs and architectural concepts for next-generation wheeled humanoid robots. The intern will collaborate directly with the CEO at Deft Robotics. The internship begins in March 2026 and continues through approximately August 2026, requiring at least 12 weeks. Full-time, on-site summer participation is expected, with part-time scheduling potentially available during the academic semester.

Research Scientist developing robot autonomy software and learning algorithms for dexterous manipulation in unstructured environments. Responsibilities include reinforcement and imitation learning, high-performance inference, production robot data pipelines, distributed policy training, edge deployment, and safety-critical software. The role also advances robotics research through novel methodologies while applying results to customer use cases.

The job description does not specify responsibilities or qualifications for the Senior SLAM Engineer role. The hiring process includes a phone screen, two virtual technical interviews, and an onsite interview. Compensation is $100,000–$200,000 annually, plus potential cash and stock awards and benefits.

Develop a modular robot autonomy stack combining Vision-Language-Action models with manipulation modules. Build safety layers, data pipelines, model-agnostic interfaces, and high-performance inference software for production robot fleets. Advance dexterous manipulation through reinforcement learning, imitation learning, and novel research while supporting real-world customer applications.
