Headway seeks a Staff Fullstack Engineer to own end-to-end product work across frontend and backend. You’ll build practice management, patient/provider engagement, AI-enabled clinical systems, onboarding, growth tools, and platform foundations. The role requires technical leadership, cross-functional strategy, mentoring, and shipping scalable, reliable systems in a complex healthcare domain.

Design and build reliable backend services powering clinical data, insurance billing, patient-facing infrastructure, and financial ledger systems. Scale high-integrity systems requiring idempotency, strong consistency, and pragmatic AI integration to automate provider workflows and enable personalized patient experiences.

Lead end-to-end design of an AI-agent-powered provider onboarding experience to replace multi-page credentialing forms. Partner with PM and Eng to prototype with AI tools, conduct provider research, improve conversion, and contribute to the design system and team AI practices.

Lead architecture and delivery of scalable data infrastructure: design and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines, enterprise data models, and data quality frameworks. Define platform standards, mentor engineers, drive cross-functional initiatives, and partner with analytics, data science, and engineering stakeholders to ensure reliable, production-grade data assets.

Lead and grow small engineering pods building provider-facing products that improve therapist workflows and scale provider acquisition. Partner cross-functionally to drive product outcomes, mentor engineers, remain a hands-on technical contributor, and shape how AI is used responsibly in clinical tools.

Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and platform infrastructure. Define data governance, monitoring, and quality standards. Partner cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science. Drive technical decisions, performance optimization, and infrastructure-as-code for a growing data platform supporting patients, providers, and business teams.

Own patient experiences across Health Systems, EAP, and Payer channels. Design referral-to-booking flows, co-branded journeys, provider directory improvements, and run multi-sprint experiments to improve conversion. Prototype and present working demos to partners, collaborate with PM, engineering, BD, and ops, and use AI-first tools to iterate from planning through launch.

Design end-to-end experiences for group practices, owning onboarding, supervisory billing, admin tooling, packaging, and practice-level analytics. Partner with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to drive growth, scale supervisory billing nationwide, and contribute AI-driven prototyping and design system improvements.

Lead an engineering team owning parts of Headway's insurance platform: design architecture, ensure reliability, co-own roadmap with PMs, run hiring and coaching, manage incidents and on-call, and build integrations, APIs, and tooling that other teams depend on to deliver accurate, real-time insurance answers.

Lead and build Headway's payer marketing function: set strategy, craft positioning and narratives, commercialize payer solutions, translate clinical data into commercial proof, enable sales and field teams, run events and competitive intelligence, and measure relationship and commercial impact.
