The Staff Software Engineer will lead the evolution of Slickdeals' data engineering ecosystem by architecting scalable platforms, maintaining data workflows, and mentoring engineers in a collaborative environment.

Analyzes customer, marketplace, product, financial, merchant, and transaction data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities. Builds analytical frameworks for new products, markets, and strategic initiatives; validates data sources and metrics; investigates anomalies; and develops actionable recommendations. Communicates insights through dashboards, presentations, and concise storytelling to senior executives, cross-functional leaders, and the Board. Partners with Product, Engineering, and Data teams to improve decision-making and uses emerging AI tools to accelerate analysis.

Lead growth-focused analytics by designing experiments, building LTV/retention models, running causal A/B tests, creating dashboards, and translating data into product and business recommendations across cross-functional teams.

Lead design and delivery of mobile-facing backend APIs and services, own initiatives end-to-end, improve reliability and performance, mentor engineers, collaborate with Mobile, Web, Product, Design, and Platform teams, and modernize legacy systems while supporting high-traffic iOS and Android applications.

Find and post compelling deals across consumer categories, collaborate with partners and internal teams, analyze deal performance, review partner spreadsheets, and provide feedback to improve shopping content. The role requires strong writing, communication, attention to detail, technical adaptability, basic Excel skills, category expertise, responsiveness, and willingness to work permanent evening or weekend shifts.
