Translate technical concepts and creative briefs into storyboards, style frames, animatics, and polished 2D/3D animation. The role requires production software engineering in Python, cloud and on-premise infrastructure experience, Kubernetes, ML frameworks, and strong ownership of secure, mission-critical systems.

Own the electric propulsion modeling roadmap for motors, inverters, gearboxes, and propellers. Develop, validate, and deploy physics-based models across aircraft programs, lead propulsion trade studies, and design experimental characterization campaigns. Build reusable engineering software and improve model fidelity using laboratory and flight data. Translate propulsion, thermal, efficiency, acoustics, and reliability insights into aircraft and fleet-level decisions through cross-functional collaboration.

Own the system-level design of welded steel drone-delivery towers and subassemblies, including structural components, mechanisms, and electronics integration. Apply mechanical fundamentals, hand calculations, FEA, CAD, prototyping, and testing to develop reliable products. Collaborate with electrical, software, civil, NPI, and supply chain teams to transition designs into production and field deployment. Maintain BOMs, release parts, create build documentation, support contract manufacturers, and periodically visit customers and suppliers.

Lead Zipline’s industry standards strategy across aviation, autonomy, and commercial UAS delivery. Prioritize standards bodies and committees, represent the company in organizations such as ASTM and RTCA, convert operational and technical knowledge into standards proposals, govern company positions and IP risks, and translate regulatory developments into certification, market-entry, roadmap, and commercial decisions. Brief executives and build alignment with regulators, industry peers, certification organizations, and technical experts.

Lead end-to-end electrical subsystem design for Zipline's long-range drone platform: develop architecture, schematics, PCB layout, validation, and production. Drive trade studies, mitigate risk, and collaborate with firmware, mechanical, systems, manufacturing, and operations. Support field deployments and supplier/manufacturer visits.
