The Market Operations Lead will oversee the operational performance of the Ride-hail services, ensuring quality, scalability, and reliability while leading cross-functional teams in the Bay Area.

Develop and verify depot and off-hail automation features for autonomous vehicle fleets. Responsibilities include defining requirements and system architecture, building verification and monitoring systems, qualifying new features and depots, debugging field issues, improving test coverage, and extending automation across vehicle platforms. The role requires cross-functional collaboration, data-driven problem solving, C++ code analysis, SQL querying, and dashboard creation.

Lead end-to-end actuarial analyses, including data preparation, commercial auto pricing, reserving, risk modeling, and actionable presentations. Build scalable data pipelines using R, Python, and SQL; automate workflows with AI and modern analytical tools; quantify autonomous driving risks; and collaborate with Safety, Engineering, Product, Legal, and Finance. Establish modeling standards, document processes, and mentor teammates while supporting insurance and risk-financing strategies.

Leads global product marketing strategy for Waymo’s autonomous ride-hailing products, including positioning, launches, market expansions, adoption, and growth. Partners with Product, Engineering, and Operations leadership to influence roadmaps and business priorities. Synthesizes consumer, brand, competitive, product, and business insights to guide market decisions. Builds and develops a high-performing global Product Marketing team and supports U.S. and international market health.

Develop infrastructure for a virtual driver's test for autonomous vehicles, improving simulation workflows using ML models and evaluating driving behavior.

Lead development of multi-sensor, multi-task machine learning models for autonomous driving perception, including object detection, occupancy prediction, road understanding, and trajectory planning. Architect foundational modeling libraries, sensor fusion components, temporal aggregation systems, and scalable experimentation pipelines. Optimize models for latency, throughput, memory, and onboard hardware constraints while enabling rapid prototyping and analysis of model training and learned representations.

Lead public relations strategy and communications operations for Waymo’s autonomous driving technology. Build scalable media, resource, and reporting processes; coordinate press events and demonstrations; manage agencies, vendors, budgets, and partnerships; support spokesperson training and executive briefings; and collaborate with product, engineering, policy, and business teams. The role develops communications strategies for products, market launches, and rapid-response situations while strengthening public understanding, adoption, and reputation.

Lead the reliability product roadmap for Waymo’s autonomous driving system. Define evaluation methods for hardware and software failures, develop onboard solutions and testing strategies, mitigate field issues, and build reliability systems for new vehicle platforms, regions, weather conditions, and operational design domains. Partner cross-functionally with data scientists, engineering, and product teams to establish long-term vision and actionable plans for safe, scalable autonomous driving.

Manage and mature operational risk and safety infrastructure by publishing playbooks, monitoring risks, leading root-cause investigations, maintaining risk registers, and translating operational data into product roadmap requirements. The role requires systems thinking, workflow optimization, Safety Management Systems knowledge, structured requirements tracking, and strong cross-functional communication. Experience in autonomous vehicles or other safety-critical industries is preferred, along with predictive indicators and root-cause analysis methodologies.
