Top Tech Jobs & Startup Jobs in San Francisco Bay Area, CA

Own mechanical robot subsystems from architecture through production, including drivetrain, structures, actuation, linkages, and enclosures. Select and integrate components, perform load and tolerance analysis, prototype in-house, and design for manufacturing, assembly, serviceability, and reliability. Debug deployed robots, coordinate with manufacturers and vendors, mentor junior engineers, and drive rapid iteration on field-ready hardware.

Own the electrical architecture and production development of robotic subsystems, including power distribution, batteries, motor drives, PCBs, sensors, harnesses, and embedded integration. Design, build, test, and debug hardware on deployed robots, manage manufacturing vendors, resolve field failures, and mentor junior engineers. The role requires hands-on experience shipping hardware, strong power electronics and mixed-signal fundamentals, and comfort working onsite in a fast-paced environment.

Leads on-site robot operators, owning hiring, training, scheduling, safety, quality, performance metrics, and customer workflow integration. Manages multi-shift operations, coaches staff, addresses performance issues, documents operating playbooks, handles incidents, and routes field feedback to engineering. The role requires hands-on, in-person leadership across operational sites and continuous improvement of robot and operator performance.

Build and own software connecting robots to customer businesses, including teleoperation and fleet management interfaces, task scheduling and dispatch, customer system integrations, performance dashboards, and mobile and web tools. The role involves working directly with on-site operators, designing real-time systems, and iterating quickly based on field usage.

Research and deploy reliable robotic manipulation policies for live operations. Responsibilities include developing policies across multimodal data, debugging transformer and diffusion models, operating real-robot data flywheels, and optimizing inference for approximately 10 Hz performance on edge hardware.

Build and maintain the software foundation for deployed robots, including onboard runtime, middleware, real-time control loops, hardware drivers, networking, security, OTA updates, monitoring, and remote diagnostics. Optimize edge performance, debug field failures, and improve fleet reliability across Linux-based robotic systems.

Own the mechanical design of mobile robots, including drivetrain, structures, actuators, linkages, and enclosures. Select components, perform load and tolerance analysis, fabricate prototypes, and design for manufacturing, serviceability, and reliability. Debug failures on deployed robots and improve designs based on field experience. Responsibilities also include vendor management for machined, sheet metal, and molded parts. The role requires strong hands-on fabrication skills and in-person work in San Francisco.

Own and develop the perception stack for deployed hospitality robots, creating and optimizing multimodal manipulation policies, debugging transformer/diffusion policy failures, and ensuring real-time (~10Hz) inference on edge hardware in real hotel environments.

Lead end-to-end mechatronics development for hotel-deployed robots: mechanical design, electrical architecture, component selection, in-house prototyping, field debugging, and vendor management. Build for manufacturability, serviceability, and real-world reliability while iterating rapidly in an in-person San Francisco environment.

Build and maintain the core robot software stack including communication, state management, data transport, deployment tooling, and hardware interfacing. Develop tooling, telemetry, data pipelines, and reliability features. Collaborate across controls, perception, ML, and hardware teams and shape scalable system architecture.
